I used to drive this bridge every day commuting to Pleasanton from San Mateo county. The causeway section isn't bad, but I never liked the highrise. It was always a relief to hit the dirt at the bottom of the bridge.
Yes I have drove on this road, but I remember it was a 2 lane road and scary as hell. There was splashes from the oceans waters when hitting the cement road. I remember getting lost in the bay area where I needed to get on high way 580 or so and ended up driving over the Ocean. and to top it off, I had to come back again cuz I was heading to Pleasanton and that is the wrong way to go.

Yes, and it was also a drawbridge area till 1967. Btw Happy 89th anniversary as of Mar.3.
