@@shashwatbortamuly9853 because they are taught Assam is Ahoms land, it was because of British that present Arunachal Pradesh, mizoram,nagaland & meghalaya were part of Assam, only Manipur & tripura were not part of Assam because they were princely state & British never fully conquered them, the Ahoms never conquered Arunachal never even reached mizoram but it was under the name tag Assam because of British, like eg bihar odisha was part of bengal province , do you know why meghalaya ,nagaland,mizoram protested & demanded seperate state because the Assam govt were imposing their language to them, many protests many people died many insurgent came out & the state got divided, as my previous comment was about Dimasa tribe, when Nagaland state was formed the assam govt didnt evem asked the indigenous people & gave the land to them as cause Dimapur was not so called Ahoms land historically so they gave & didnot even bother to take back as it was signed for 25 yrs i guess, the Assam govt never asked back & also the nagaland govt didn't gave back cause it was a free land the nagaland govt got free plains land & also no loss for Assam & the cachar district was covered fully with barak plains& with hills as the British left, it was under Assam no doubt so as nagaland,mizoram etc were a district , even Cachar as mizo hills ,naga hills asked seperate states the fear of Dimasa cachari will also ask for a state the Assam govt divided Cachar in Two district, Cachar & north Cachar hills further Cachar was divided in hailakandi ,karimganz & north cachar hills were United mikir & north cachar hills as karbi & dimasa population were half half, as many states were formed & to fullfilled the demand of indigenous peopleUnited khasi & jaintia hills garo hills United mikir & north cachar hills got 6 schedule & that time Assam capital was Shillong, when the govt tried imposing Assamese language forcefully All Hills party was form & protested to safeguard the identity & after protesting for 10 yrs special concern was given from central govt & Assam had to give them freedom to form state even our district got the chance to be with meghalaya but our leaders stayed with assam , & so later Karbi anglong district was form & NC hills turned to Dima Hasao ddistrict presently the Assam govt even now doesn't take initiative to educate youngsters whereas converting our youths in time, my comment turned to long para but its short cause their is more to say & i dont blame the people not knowing the history but they should try to learn their state cause many people dont know where is Haflong & its the only hill station in Assam this small things is not small sometimes, i hope u got what i mean to say
