I absolutely love Adam in England, he is adorable, just the very sweetest. Joanns now carries liberty fabric and sometimes on sale.
How thoughtful of Carole, Adam and Deb - what a fun video to watch 😊💕
What a fun video. Loved seeing your gifts from Adam and Deb. Aww this community is just awesome and we know who to blame for that ❤❤❤Without you, it just wouldn't exist 😘. That fairy fabric is to die for, I could just stare at that all day. All those gifts you've made,, what a busy elf you've been this week 😂👏🏼. Enjoy your weekend, love you xxx❤
That fairy fabric - SO gorgeous, I almost want to keep it! The one person I think that will love the pillowcases is Emma. Busy elf vs Vlogmas. I think I've appreciate the busy elf far more, even if it means I didn't get my Christmas dress done. I got close, but don't want to hurry. And those quick gifts are so satisfying! Love you too. xoxox
OMG I remember paper dolls- always my favourite too. Always obsessed with clothes. Your friends are very thoughtful and generous. So pleased Christmas is not going to be dismal for you.
Believe me, me too! Makes my heart ache for those who are alone at holiday time.
Arent our sewing friends just the most thoughtful??!! It was so fun watching you enjoy opening presents. Praying for a joyful Christmas for you and not “dismall”! I have a little package to send you but not shipping it till the Christmas rush is over. It will be a new year gift!! I love you Jen! Cant wait till we can get together again!❤
They are amazing - and ironically I also have a gift for you but I need to deliver it in person - it's too heavy to ship! xox
Jen, what special gifts! You are loved. ❤ All families have drama, and I hope yours settles down and you have the most blessed Christmas season.
Thank you so much Marcia. It'll be fine. And you're right, I am so loved! I hope that's the case at your house too - that you are so loved. Merry Christmas!
I live the Michael Miller print. That fabric would make a fabulous little girl’s dress. Your hair looks really pretty.
I’m actually making the Pin Cut Sew version of the coffee sleeves as I watch this 😂.
I bet Nikki over there would love that!
I loved watching you open presents Love your tips the bobbin is always a problem I loved paper dolls I played with those for hours Little girls are miss out by not having paper dolls .
My children had Guinea Pigs and though I was opposed to them initially, I got very attached. I like a crossword thread. Nice surprise mail. I like that Adam knows you like blue. I started typing that before you said it😂. Love the advent calendar.
Those guinea pigs - I got attached too. It was emotional when she died. Apparently all the cross-wound thread is the best, no surprise there. And of course Adam would use Liberty prints in a little zipper pouch. And Tula charms! I have the best sewing friends (you included!). xox
This is such a fun video Jen. Isn’t Carole just the sweetest human. Loved seeing the gifts from all three of your friends. Love the pillowcases. ❤
Wow you got some nice gifts. Loved watching you enjoying them so much.
Such lovely, thoughtful presents, Jen! I remember looking forward to a magazine (I think) from which a doll was cut out, along with her clothes with tabs to attach - memories! I hope Christmas turns out better than you were expecting and any dramas subside.🤞🏻 Keep smiling! Kind regards from Penny 🇬🇧😊💕
Paper dolls - such a simple toy! I'm so glad you enjoyed them too. I wish someone would bring those back - maybe someone has! Thanks for your well wishes for Christmas. There are certainly enough precious present there to shadow any drama. Happy Liverpudlian Christmas! xox
Hi Jen, Style patterns were sold in Canada too.. I had lots in the 70's They are no longer here not are Simplicity.🤔My heritage is Scottish and we had Yorkshire pudding alot.. It was made by putting them in muffin tins.. delish! You certainly got some lovely gifts.. Enjoy..
That was a beautiful book Deb gave you. The little dress form charm is beautiful. I don't think I've seen one of those before.
Hey Jen: I remember the paper dolls you talked about! Because we are the same age, we probably had the same sets of them. I also handmade some paper dolls from cardstock, then traced around them to make their clothes. Not quite sewing, but still a lot of fun designing their clothing. As for moving your needle instead of using a specific sewing machine foot, I learned that lesson last year... the hard way! Couldn't understand why my 1/4 inch seams weren't coming out 1/4 inch and was really frustrated. I then realized that my foot was 3/8 inch, not 1/4 inch. Then, the edges of my fabric pieces were getting messed up by my feed dogs and skewing my seams. Eventually, I realized that I could use my 3/8 inch foot and just move my needle over and voila!... problem solved. It was a lightbulb moment, but not without a lot of frustration getting there. 💡 LOL!!! As for your batting and fabric scraps, if you know someone who has a cat or small dog, make them a pet bed with an old pillowcase and stuff it with the batting and fabric scraps. I'm sorry your Christmas isn't going to be as merry as you might like, but at least you will have some family to celebrate with. 🎄 Merry Christmas!
Go you! You figured it out! Oh, my Christmas will be fine. No worries. Hope yours is fantastic!
Style patterns are great. Lucky you. Do you own a Pfaff? They are notorious for tension problems. Did you have birds nest loops of bobbin thread? If so & it’s under warranty take it to your dealer. Have them check the tension module to make sure it’s still working. It’s an electronic thing that you can’t see unless cover of machine is removed. I changed the module myself on my 2016 Pfaff QC 4.0, because I bought it used. 😮. Have a great Holiday. Hope the thread path resolves your stitch problem for good. If not, thought you might like to know about the tension problem with that brand. :)
I do own a Pfaff! I didn't have any birds nests, just a looser stitch. And the thread path was the problem - solved! Thanks for the tip on the tension problems.
The pillow cases and coffee sleeves are fab. The kids will love them. What fun, sweet gifts you received from precious friends. 😘💗
They are indeed sweet friends. And you are among them. xox
With those little pieces of fabric you could make a cathedral quilt. Watch you all the time. Enjoy your videos. Have a Merry Christmas to and yours!
Thank you! You too!
Funny you should mention problems with bobbin thread. I had a similar problem with the bobbin thread bunching up. It turned out to be the needle thread coming unhooked somehow in its travels from spool to needle eye.. took a few minutes to figure it out.
Amazing gift haul from sewing friends!!
So crazy that bobbin threads always have to do with the needle. Go figure!
Sounds like you had thread problems like me. I didn't think about how the thread was wound. I will not be using the Gutermann thread on my straight stitch Juki anymore since I can only put the spool upright
It may have been a combination of the tension and the spool position. I've been using only vertical spool pins up to this point and it's been fine. Now I notice that although my stitches are fine, when I get to the end of a seam and tie it off (auto thread cutter), my thread spool kind of tries to jump off the pin as the tension releases.
So you're probably fine. And I probably need to suck it up and take the machine to the shop and see what's going on!
Nice gifts. I recently learned the deal with the thread in my sewing class. They’re so many little sewing tricks and rules. Thanks for sharing
So many - it's hard to keep track. But always good when I get reminded and it's helpful!
Stacked is standing, crosswound is down!
I still have the paper dolls I played with when I was little.
You always brighten my day. Thanks for being you.
Wow, thank you
I have been making memory bears for the past week. Everybody is ordering 2 or more Bears at the same time. Now I just received an order for 10 memory bears For Christmas gifts.
Busy busy busy!

Great idea!
What a fun vlog to watch all those gifts be opened, Carole gives the best gifts with all the local cuisine and history, Deb is so thoughtful xx
So true! And I repeat, DO NOT LOOK AT THAT STITCHING. I am blaming it on the thread problems I had. If you were a member of my family I would never hear the end of it. Actually, my family is getting a lot of the same gifts and I probably never will hear the end of it! 😂😂😂 ❤️🤗🤗 (one for Darren too)
That was FUN!! And, once again, I learned something new -- if there's a problem with the bobbin, it could be in your needle threading. WHO KNEW?!?!?!?! Thanks, Jen!
Aw guinea pigs ❤ Miss our guinea piggies, such big characters in little bodies.
So true!
My mother used to collect little note pads. Mainly she would get them as gifts from the parents of her students as well as staff members in the school she worked in. She had so many that now that she's passed I will be set for the rest of my life. We are set for life on school subject notebooks because my husband would buy a case of them on clearance when he worked retail many years ago. I keep a note pad handy in every room including my sewing room. You never know when inspiration hits and you know you wont remember later, and for me that could be just minutes.
How wonderful that every time you use one you think of her. And now you have all those notebooks to make covers for 😂 At least you'll never lack for a project!
I used the notepads for so many things, grocery lists, project ideas, appointments and others. They are truly handy.@@TodayinJensSewingRoom
You will LOVE the Aurifil thread!
This video made me smile! You are fun to watch! You deserve it all! ~Nancy
Thanks! I'll be in touch if I get time away from family to see if you're available. I'd love to see you and catch up. xox
@@TodayinJensSewingRoom That would be great! ❤
Fun video!
Very nice !
Such beautiful & thoughtful gifts!
I have the best friends - through sewing!
Thanks for a great vlog and the handy tips Adam is such a sweetheart 😊
My old machine only had the ability to do upright spools so when I got my new Pfaff and saw that it could do horizontal I was dubious. Turns out the manual actually says to use horizontal position for “normal thread” and the vertical position just for large spools or specialty threads. It even includes some troubleshooting and recommendations for the fact that not all threads are manufactured the same way. I hadn’t even noticed that before you brought this topic up!
Well there you go - pays to read the manual! Thanks! I confess that I did try consulting the online manual within the machine, but to no avail. But it seemed like someone at the shop where I bought the machine had mentioned it - or a guy who fixed another machine - no idea. It's no surprise that your manual clarifies it. Maybe I need to read YOUR manual! 😂
merry Christmas
Merry Christmas, Margie 🤴🙌⛪️
