Does anyone else find it more than a little implausible that Dean was just about the only character who didn't know how Cas felt about him? Even when you factor in his deep denial about so many things, eventually, Dean should have seen it before Cas actually said it. All Dean had to do was think back on the ton of sacrifices Cas made, all the times Cas saved him, or came when he called. Just as a matter of character development on Dean's part, I have to believe he knew on some level and maybe he wouldn't let himself acknowledge it because he didn't think he deserved it, but I almost can't bear to imagine how much pain those years of suppression must have caused Cas. I kind of respect the demons; at least they called it like they saw it.

The frustration then is in shippers demanding it be canon or accusing the actors, writers, network, character development of baiting even though they never said it was romantic interest between them and many times even explicitly said it wasn’t.

4:42-5:40 That whole “harms of an angel” scene got me rolling on the floor. I literally could not breath for a few seconds there so great job! It was truly a work of art.
This video gave me such joy. It reminds me that this ship may one day sail because even though everyone sees it and they’re clueless doesn’t mean it’s hopeless. I take myself for this example it took me over a decade to finally get with my boyfriend and Cas and Dean have a good possibility of either one or both saying it because the ending no matter how much we want, will be bitter sweet. Maybe a final death of one or settling down/Dean dies and Cas stays with him? Maybe that’s how it’ll end. Writers don’t need anything besides a confession, someone doing a end credit voiceover, and a long shot of Dean and Cas, holding hands with some sort of scenic background with baby. Maybe looking over a cliff while on the hood of baby, Garth, Sam, or one of the others narrating the aftermath.
Shippers project their fantasy onto the show, that’s not the same as it being even remotely canon. Bad guys/antagonists using sexual innuendos to mess with the good guys (they’ve made similar references to Sam and Dean’s relationship and even Sam with Cas) doesn’t mean the characters actually think it’s happening. Your dream ending doesn’t fit with canon at all.

Cas is there of course but the intention of that scene was that Chuck is watching them. They open on it to show them sitting and drinking in desperation and continues to Sam entering and adding to that desperation because of what he says happened w/Chuck. Chuck has made it very clear that the part of the world he’s obsessed with is Sam and Dean. Cas is a part of their world but if you actually think Chuck/the show was implying that Cas and Dean are the center then you’re clearly allowing your shipper goggles to make you miss the majority of what this show is about.

@@waffleswithice4001 The only people who think the actors/other characters actually ship it are shippers who somehow think it validates their fantasy. They know there are some people obsessed with sexualizing the friendship, that’s what they know “is up” and so they throw a couple jokes towards those people, they’ve done the same towards Sam and Dean shippers but the show is obviously not going there...they’re not Game of Thrones. Rowena was trying to get their friendship sorted and Meg sexualizes everything; Charley and Kevin haven’t been at all shippy about them; Crowley has insinuated marriage connotations between Sam and Dean so clearly it’s open season on everyone for him because he knows those types of things get under people’s skins. Sam is the one that makes me shake my head the most because that’s definitely shippers putting their fantasy onto him since nothing he’s done has made it seem he in any way thinks Dean should get with Cas. Hell he asked why not Samstiel in the musical episode making it clear he was just ribbing Dean.

4:42-5:40 That whole “harms of an angel” scene got me rolling on the floor. I literally could not breath for a few seconds there so great job! It was truly a work of art.
This video gave me such joy. It reminds me that this ship may one day sail because even though everyone sees it and they’re clueless doesn’t mean it’s hopeless. I take myself for this example it took me over a decade to finally get with my boyfriend and Cas and Dean have a good possibility of either one or both saying it because the ending no matter how much we want, will be bitter sweet. Maybe a final death of one or settling down/Dean dies and Cas stays with him? Maybe that’s how it’ll end. Writers don’t need anything besides a confession, someone doing a end credit voiceover, and a long shot of Dean and Cas, holding hands with some sort of scenic background with baby. Maybe looking over a cliff while on the hood of baby, Garth, Sam, or one of the others narrating the aftermath.
Shippers project their fantasy onto the show, that’s not the same as it being even remotely canon. Bad guys/antagonists using sexual innuendos to mess with the good guys (they’ve made similar references to Sam and Dean’s relationship and even Sam with Cas) doesn’t mean the characters actually think it’s happening. Your dream ending doesn’t fit with canon at all.

@@crimsonroses56 It has nothing to do with homophobia. Not having two guys get together just because there are some fans that fantasize about it doesn’t mean it’s due to being against gay relationships/people, it just means that’s not the intention for the characters or their friendship.

Either you’re so entrenched in your ship that you’re incapable of seeing the canon story or you don’t have guy friends/aren’t close to your friends. They aren’t hinting at it, that’s literally just shippers reading into it what they want to see. Hence why most viewers are able to watch and understand that canon is portraying Dean and Cas as a classic brother-in-arms friendship not something romantic or sexual. The writers/actors have literally said that it’s not their intention to have it portrayed in that way. Jokes and innuendos aren’t the same as saying they really want each other that way made even more obvious by the fact they’ve made the same (and more of them) jokes and innuendos for Sam and Dean but they’re obviously not serious.
The 1st part is literally Chuck tuning into the first full scene where Sam and Dean discuss their last face to face interaction with Chuck and what it means/how it may affect dealing with him. Cas is there of course but the intention of that scene was that Chuck is watching them. They open on it to show them sitting and drinking in desperation and continues to Sam entering and adding to that desperation because of what he says happened w/Chuck. Chuck has made it very clear that the part of the world he’s obsessed with is Sam and Dean. Cas is a part of their world but if you actually think Chuck/the show was implying that Cas and Dean are the center then you’re clearly allowing your shipper goggles to make you miss the majority of what this show is about.
