DO NOT do A Little Piece of Heaven (yet), thats an aquired taste that you're honestly probably not ready for, people keep suggesting it to new reactors just to mess with them ;o its a reallh good song but its way over the top, super weird, just save it for later (trust me). Try Danger Line, M.I.A, Buried Alive or The Stage instead 😊 or any song from the Live in The LBC show, its an amazing show and they're killing it live, like Critical Acclaim, Second Heartbeat, Bat Country or Unholy Confessions will do the trick 😊 oh and btw, awesoem reaction, keep em coming 😁

Great reaction!! May I suggest Buried Alive, or Save Me, from this album next? Matt’s last name is actually Sanders, & the Rev, was still with them while writing this album & played drums for demos, then Mike Portnoy was brought in during production. Nightmare & one other song, are the only two, that have the original lyrics, from before the Rev passed. Would Love to see you react to more from them.

From what I remember a few tracks are the rev’s drum tracks. But quite a few songs were written or co written by him as his goodbye/apology/plea for help. Victim. Brompton cocktail. Save me ect. Fun fact. In the song fiction rev says “Left this life to set me free Took a piece of you inside of me
All this hurt can finally fade Promise me you'll never feel afraid hope it's worth it, here on the highway, I know you'll find your own way when I'm not with you So tell everybody, the ones who walk beside me, I hope you'll find your own way when I'm not with you tonight” and in the song so far away they paid tribute to that by saying “Sleep tight, I'm not afraid The ones that we love are here with me Lay away a place for me Cause as soon as I'm done I'll be on my way”
The sad and funny part of this song is in the age of covid 19 pandemic situation it fits perfectly especially in the United States and other hard hit counties

They had several 'new guys' on drums. Mike Portnoy, who the Rev idolized, was the drummer for this album, though the Rev had already written large parts of the album. It's worth mentioning that the Rev wasn't just their drummer though. He was their primary songwriter, hence this is the last album to 'feel' like old-school Avenged Sevenfold and why they had things like his background vocals already completed. There is a demo version of Nightmare you can find online. Mike Portnoy is best known for Dream Theater, a pretty famous progressive rock and metal band. Mike however insulted his previous bandmates in Dream Theater very publicly when he was working with A7X and because A7X are all very close childhood friends, they didn't take kindly to that kind of badmouthing and fired him.
Arin Ilejay became their next drummer, but while he could play what the Rev and Portnoy played, he didn't have the writing chops that the Rev did. His original drum work and songwriting contributions weren't very strong and this led to the other, stronger personalities in the band to push him to the side during the songwriting process. The drum work on the resulting album, Hail to the King, is a noticeable departure from their previous work and in many ways it was a rushed, overly radio-friendly album by a band who basically lost their musical identity. They were ostracized for it even more so than when M Shadows moved away from metalcore.
To avoid a repeat, they worked with Brooks Wackerman in secret for a year before revealing him as their drummer to the public. Brooks is a celebrated drummer for an underground punk band, Bad Religion, who has a strong cult following. He was also with Suicidal Tendencies, a hardcore thrash punk band. They recorded their most recent album, The Stage, with Brooks. I'd say they found their identity again, but time will tell if The Stage gets them back on track.
