Nick Schrader has been my main go to for whip tutorials, and Derek Taylor from Taylor Whips was my local whip coach until he moved. I'm looking forward to seeing another new method and learning from a whip maker I admire so much!!!

Whipworks, I just wanted to tell you that I received my supplies from your etsy shop, and I just finished the majority of the whip today (2 days later). It's literally the first whip I've ever even held, much less cracked and it's awesome! All I have left to do is the bolsters, concho, and accent knots. I probably should have waited until the whip was 100% before going outside with it, but I couldn't help myself. Going to stop playing with it now and finish it up, but I just wanted to say thanks for this series! I really enjoyed the process and am looking forward to making another one! I'll post pics on Instagram later in the week when it's complete if you wanna see it.

It's not a stupid question! A sewing needle doesn't work unfortunately. You need the unique thread at the back for the paracord to attach. I show how to use it throughout these videos, maybe check out the accent knots video

Could you use a large sewing needle instead of a lacing needle? Sorry if this is a stupid question.
