Welcome to Vietnam! One tip for crossing the street in Vietnam: Just walk slowly at an even pace. Don’t make any sudden movements. Try raising your hand up high and the drivers will slow down or they’ll go around you. And watch out for buses and trucks. They’re terrible.
Why small chairs? 1) to reduce the cost of operation. 2) easily removable because of sudden rains 3) stackable for limited restaurant space 4) some space is off-limit for operation; if the police show up then the staff can make them quickly disappear.
Yes, we drove down to Hoi An and spent there 2 days! What a magical place! We though going in the middle of the week would be quiet, but nooo very busy! And and and the Kao Lao my goodness, how good is that 🤤
We are originally from Brazil and Hungary (Piki) but we have been traveling around Asia for over a year… our last destination before Da Nang was Phuket Thailand 🇹🇭
You should, it’s very different in a good way! The food is sooooo good! We are finishing up some other videos about Vietnam, stay around and if you need any help, hit us up on IG
There’s no need of license, just the usual common sense and BE CAREFUL, the 🚁 are flying super low around the beach!!!! You will love it! If you need any recommendations let us know. 😉
In most cities of Vietnam conducting business on the sidewalks is illegal. In the old days, the police conducts regular raid at sidewalk businesses and confiscate all the ‘equipment’ of the businesses. Small plastic chairs and table are easy for the owners of the businesses pick them up quickly before the police show up. Also if the tables and chairs were confiscated, they are not expensive to replace.
Wow! We had no ideia about that. It makes so much sense now! Either way, we love the chairs, it’s so unique. We always look for those while eating, drinking or chilling 🙏
the stool was legendary for Asian swag :) I guess it's small for Asian size and cute, saving a lot of space. cheap and easy to run away from when the police try to harass street vendors. We use it at middle school for the Monday announcements. As you know in Asia street vendors were illegal but they have no choice just sell for their basic living. Street food and service in Asia were a cheap a convenient choice for tourists, especially from US or EU because you haven't paid for the high-quality, property, cheap labor ...etc which does not happen in the US or EU because of the hygienic problem and more rule as those countries.
Love it. I think those chairs are so special, we mentioned them everywhere… some places have uniques and those chairs are one of them when we think about Vietnam 🇻🇳 It makes so much sense your explanation! Thank you so much for that.
@@PikiYourDream I was in Da Nang, February 29, 2020, about 19 days before Viêt Nam shutdown international air flights in and out of the country. I flew to Japan and just watched what was happening in the world for a month. I have been wanting to go back to Da Nang ever since I reluctantly left. I’m in Nha Trang now and will be making my final descent into Da Nang to lease a condo on August 15.
We are headed there soon😃Liked&Sub’d😃 How do you like your hotel and how is the wifi? Your video made us excited travel there. If you have the time check out our channel I think you would like it. All the best Kattie and Chris.
The hotel was just fine, nothing luxurious from inside, but great amenities. The Wi-Fi did a great job, only once for a couple of minutes got disconnected, but nothing major! You should be excited, it’s different and interesting at the same time. If you do wish to explore more, make sure you rent a motorcycle, that’s handy and without you get very limited. We will definitely check your channel out, you got a new sub from here 🙏

SORRY!!!! great video BUT I have to totally disagree, we've just spent 5 glorious weeks in Thailand and have come to see what Vietnam has to offer. We are in DaNang and it is AWFUL!!! You've done a good job of glossing over some things. FIRSTLY the whole place is a mess, it's one big construction site/rubbish tip SECONDLY sorry but the people are NOT welcoming, I understand they don't rely on tourism in the way Thailand does, but I feel on edge, they stare, some are blatantly rude, all in all an uneasy vibe THIRDLY unless you like seafood, stay away. There is VERY little to choose from and most places WILL have rats nesting nearby (lots of rats) FOURTH it's a 'hustle' approach, like Egypt, everyone is out on the grab, eg: trying to charge foreigners to use the free public toilet, charge for drinking water in hotel rooms. LASTLY the traffic...it's not just 'bad' it's dangerous!! cars/bikes/buses won't stop for you and now they are buying more cars and having no formal training the roads will be lethal. We're trying Hoi An , hopefully that will give us a better view of Vietnam, and the Saigon (although I've heard that's just nuts) Anyway, rant over BUT I can't recommend DaNang, it's about 15 years behind a lot of SE Asia, they don't really need you to visit and to be fair there's so many more welcoming places.
I am very sorry for your experience. As you can see on our channel we don’t do videos for likes or subscribers, we share our own experiences and in Danang was no different. Once you live in Asia you perhaps have a different mind set, I could agree, if leaving Europe or USA heading directly to Vietnam it would definitely be shocking. In the other hand, we cannot wait to visit Danang and Vietnam itself.
What a nice beach 🏝
It is, indeed :)
Thank you for loving Da Nang where I was born, you have been full of praise and recommend to friends everywhere.

small chairs can be placed by the hundreds to save space and can be moved rather quickly. They are cheap and effective.
That kind crossed our minds.
Easy to transpor and effective, once you get used to them 😅
Is drone allowed in da nanang? Or need to get permission? Travelling there next week thanks
