    OHMYGOD HEY!
Today I'm reacting to a brand new cast recording: the newly released album from the original West End cast of the new musical The Little Big Things.
The 19-song album, which has music by Nick Butcher and lyrics by Nick Butcher & Tom Ling, is available digitally worldwide and on CD from @sohoplace.
Based on the best-selling memoir by Henry Fraser, with a book by Joe White, The Little Big Things opened @sohoplace in September and has now extended until 2 March 2024.
Check out today's brand new video for my reaction to hearing this cast recording for the very first time and make sure to give it a listen for yourself!

I’m disabled and heard so many good things about this show, and this got me so emotional (in a good way) it’s been my final push to get me to see this and now I’m desperate to book tickets.. Thankyou so much for filming about accessibility-centred shows.. the visibility means so much! ❤️

Seen it six times, and will almost certainly be at double figures by March 2. Best show in London. Outstanding cast recording, though the purist in me is sad that they didn't record the more up to date versions of Little Big Things, Guide You, Miles and Miles and Feel Like This, and I was sad they didn't include the Prologue and One To Seventeen (Reprise) sung by Andrew towards the end. But will definitely be making a return visit, hopefully next week, to see it again and to pick up some physical CDs for myself and my brother.

As a newbie to this musical I really appreciated the little plot explanations throughout because now I'll go listen to it and be able to follow along completely. Super catchy tunes, was fun listening along with you!

As an American I kept thinking how different it would have been if it happened here. Family bankruptcies gofundme to pay expenses family arguments over money. You are so lucky to have the NHS

Medicare was meant to be rolled out to everyone. Then idiots voted for Reagan, Reagan killed it, and then he sent absolutely everything to shit, and ultimately led us here to fascism 2024 and the outrageous scam that is the healthcare business. The UK is being led down the same trajectory, only the politicians here have the hard work of cutting and undermining the NHS so that people won't fight for it when they privatize everything and start jacking up all the prices (like they did with universities, which now cost 40 times what it cost 20 years ago.)

@@TheMrdominator1997depends. Not everyone's insurance covers everything and then you have to worry about deductibles and co-pays. oh and they can deny what care they will cover and what doctors you can you use. It's beyond complicated

After my 1st listen when this dropped I quickly revisited your review then spent the next half of my day listening to the audio version of Henry's book. What a joyous celebration of a journey that I predict will easily make my wrapped this year. I think the British Pop comparison was spot on & overall I may enjoy this more than Dear Evan Hansen. Such a shame to be in the US (& broke) because I'd love to see this one in person. Silence of The Sea BROKE ME in a much more deserved way than Words Fail & I am so thankful for it. REACT REQUESTS: KPop (something out of your wheelhouse that deserves more attention after it's too short run) Fun Home (Happy 10th anniversary) Time Travelers Wife & when released the new Death Note concept recording.

The family are from Hampshire. They talk about Dad's boat being moored near Christchurch not far from The New Forest. When his Dad sells the boat it goes to Chichester harbour x

Saw this between xmas and new year and really enjoyed it. My parents did too although my Dad (soon to be 70) felt every song ended up with much the same driving beat, uptempo and loud. He felt this was a shame as it made it all feel a bit samey (I agree to some extent) and that it meant some fab harmonies and amazing voices didn't get to be properly showcased.
The NHS song was made especially powerful as Jeremy Hunt (and family) were sitting front row directly opposite me!
Finally as an FYI the away for 6th form thing. This is standard pipeline to professional rugby. Many of the youth coaches at county, regional and national level work as public school rugby coaches for their day jobs. They recruit talent who aren't already at public schools into their teams on 6th form scholarships. One of my brothers was one.

I don’t know of any professional disabled reviewers who have reviewed the show (ShonaLouiseBlog, who took the rehearsals photographs for the show speaks about the show and working in the rehearsal room in Perry O’Bree’s vlog of a rehearsal sneak peak), but I have TOF/OA and Scoliosis and I for one can say that I related in some way to the majority of experiences that are portrayed onstage and so did my mum from her perspective. It was amazing to see myself and my life represented onstage. For me, it definitely did not come off as inspiring 😊. I hope that this helped😊

I really hated this show. I felt it mostly glossed over the reality of living with a disability. And the songs are mostly clunky, the performances twee and insincere. I think it does musical theatre a disservice, it’s exactly what people who hate musicals think musicals are like. Shallow chintz.

Agreed! I don't think it's as good for the general understanding of disability as people think it is either...
