  • Check out Hans Rey riding the famous and dangerously exposed White Line in Sedona, Arizona. With a nose-wheelie entrance and a tricky and sketchy exit line all the way down to the bottom.

    Insanely impressive. I'm in Arizona, have ridden in Sedona many times (no White Line for me, thank you. Rocky, techy blues and some blacks are enough for me), and have seen many "extreme" Sedona videos, including the White Line. You make this look almost easy with how comfortable, and in control you are. Just jaw dropping, inspiring. Keep it up!

      I went from a Schwinn cruiser to the Rockhopper in 1988 and I was never the same since. Those hills around Laguna Beach Ca and Hans changed my life forever. In fact Hans should have a bronze statue of himself placed at the top of Aliso and Woods Canyon trail near his house.
      Keep up the stoke!

      Hey Robert! My first bike was a rocky mountain Blizzard that I bought when I was a bike mechanic in 85 but I sold it in the 90's! My brother still has his 85 rock hopper and except for the tires and brakes pads it's all original we did upgrade the 5 X 3 drivetrain to 6 x 3 the first year he had it! Hope you folks can hit the trails safely these days! The trails on the north shore mountains here near Vancouver BC Canada are still open but everyone is maintaining safe social distancing! Ride ride ride!

      @@ericm8811 I am in Oregon now and since the wife is an RN here with a hospital at under 30 beds EVERYONE is doing their best to not end up in the emergency room. I had to think twice before doing yard work with a machete yesterday hahaha - not my usual swinging hari-kari as usual. Let alone I collapsed a lung in a mtn bike crash many years ago so I know how a simple ride can change your life, especially right now. Keep that in mind if you venture outdoors during this time - be safe..... then be even safer.
      It was great to read about your classic amd it sounds like its been maintained too. There werr so many bikes I wish I kept but that Rockhopper and my last made in America Schwinn fs Homegrown will stay on the regrets list. I saw a guy the other day with a totally stock rockhopper and I geeked out all over it - stock still except for the tires. The older local who just rides it to the grocery store and dispensary thought I was mental but it was in amazing shape. I almost offered to give him one of my other bikes if he was willing to trade lol..... I still may track him down when this is all over.
      Keep the rubber side down and stay safe

    • @ericm8811
      @ericm8811 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Robert! Please thank your wife for battling selflessly to make things better there! Be assured that I am not taking any risks when I am out riding! I have had one spinal surgery due to degenerating discs and I have been riding to avoid another or any other medical treatment for years! I walk any risky sections and my philosophy is to focus on what I can ride not what I can't ride! I often refer to my bike as an "inline wheelchair"! Ride ride ride!

    Hans - Someone posted elsewhere you once rode down Casner Canyon. Is this true, or just a myth? That's an insane "trail". Maybe not as exposed as here, but no one calls it an MTB trail even, it's a hiking/scrambling trail, for people on foot. Hand over foot.

    5:13 Hans: "The White Line was easy, that other stuff was fucking sketchy".
    Hans I love you! You are one of my inspirations and I would hate to see you eat it on something like this that so many people hang their egos on. Nevertheless I can't blame you for wanting to do this and having it on your bucket list. I'm just surprised you didn't do it in your younger years. Perhaps it wasn't as popular or people were not so aware of it until the advent of TH-cam and social media. I had no doubt that you have the capability, but at your age it's certainly likely to be in record holding status. I wonder where you stand on that account? It's not important to me who is on the leaderboard, but more important to me how they got to where they're at, the content of their character, their personality, and their willingness to share! Long life to you my friend and stay healthy... Needless to say ride on bro! Great accomplishment!
