Magaliesburg mountain does not surround Pretoria, it runs through the city. For instance, Pretoria West and Central are in the South and Pretoria North, and Akasia are in the North of the mountain. Every townships has one or two more malls. There is free internet access in the streets and in public places like schools and clinics (still expanding to reach more people). Every town and townships are inter-connected by a highway. We also drink water streight from the tap without further treatment. In Pretoria, you can't travel more than 15km without reaching a clinic or hospital. There is an industrial zone next to every townships.

South Africa is more concerned with making the country more liveable for its citizens so that they do not see the need to leave and be a burden to other nations. We are also more concerned with developing our urban areas, periurban areas and rural areas. Our rural areas are coming out of their shell as there is little difference between peri-urban areas and rural areas in terms of development and amenities such malls, modern clinics and hospitals, schools, road infrastructure, as a result the urge to move to urban areas has been drastically reduced. According to statistics SA, 92% of South Africans have access to clean drinking water which is on par with that of developed nations in terms of quality. 84% of SAns live in brick and motar houses with tared streets and noticeable addresses. Only 16% of SAns live in informal settlements and many of those who live there are illegal foreign nationals. 89% of South Africans have access to electricity and the number may increase by 5% in the next five years due to increased capacity from renewable energy sources. Each province in South Africa has at least one university and more world class universities and colleges are being built accross the country. South Africa has a well coordinated and developed social walfare system on the continent which pays social grants in the form general pension to all citizens over 60 yrs, social grants to children of the indigent persons, free housing through the reconstruction and development to lowly paid workers. In the past 24 years, the government has built close to 5 million RDP houses taking more than 20 million from informal settlement to formal settlement. Children of indegent persons receive a well coordinated bursary scheme NFS for the duration of their studies in tertiary education. The government also has a subsidy for those who dont qualify for RDP houses but are paid less than they can afford to puchase a middle class home. Instead of comparing who has a better city we should be demanding that our government put our taxes to good use and compare notes on what is being done to alleviate the plight of the poor in our continent. These progressive programes in SA are meant to reduce poverty and create solidarity amang the citizens. The programmes have also necessitated a huge transition of SAns from working class to middle class hence South Africa has a rapidly growing middle class on the continent.

She did say there's colonial buildings from the 19th century and new morden architecture. Which means that there's new development by South Africans and continued upgrading of the infrastructure.
Those ''indigenous Africans'' haven't built the City, hence its growing haphazardly with unreliable infrastructure and social services. SA has modern infrastructure, even better than most European cities and that was built by black government.
