Thank you for all your reviews and effort in 2024. I have been missing in action but I try to catch up when possible. A very good wish from me to you and your family for the year ahead.
What a list Jon, not that I tried all of them but they all sound fantastic. I'm so intrigued about the rice whisky, I do love trying new things and challenging my palate. Thank you for your great content in 2024 and roll on 2025 with bigger and better whiskies all in health. Happy new year to you and yours! 🥃
Thanks for the kind words! It's been great getting to know you a bit mroe too and your style is so fun to watch! I hope you have an amazing 2025 as well, Cheers to the New Year! Oh, and the Rice whisky was and is so unique. Certaintly worth a try (Not that it can be found outside of Ontario). Cheers!
Awesome list Jon, I just finished my Bridgeland Glenbow, it was so good, great choice. Thanks for the kind words on our rice whisky. Cheers and happy new year.
@dondimonte8690 Every time I sip your Rice whisky I am impressed, and I stop to consider it. Great quality, and so interesting! Thanks for the connection this year, cheers to an excellent 2025!
I had a Glen Scotia 15 in my hand this fall, but did not bring it home. Clearly a mistake! As for Town Branch? I just have not seen it here. Thanks for sharing, cheers!
@@heisenbergguy7772 Love Glen Scotia 15. I was pleasantly surprised this year by their Peated 10. One of those that didnt hit with the neck pour but hated to see it empty.
Great list John. Stoked that SOV Realms is your whisky of the year. Love Release 1. The others are great too. The Glenbow Single Malt continues to surprise me with some great tropical notes. Love the Tamdu as well must grab a bottle of the 12 soon. Thanks to you for all you do and all the support passed my way this year. Cheers to you, good scotch and great Canadian Whisky in 2025. All the best.
@SeawayWhiskyWire It has been a great year , and it's so good to get to know you more and follow your reveals and amazing mail calls!! Cheers my friend.
This was a year for me were I decided to leave my single malt scotch collection on the shelf and went the way of blended scotch to see what I might be missing. After trying around 30 of the premium blends the Dewars 21 absolutely destroyed the competition. Love it and thank you for the recommendation Jon. All the best for 2025. Cheers.
Looks like some awesome bottles there Jon. Really enjoyed your videos throughout the year. Looking forward to more great reviews in the year ahead. Have a fantastic new year. Cheers from Australia.
And...yet another year has disappeared at light speed! Stellar line up for 2024. I missed on that SofV again, but will be watching them closely in 2025. The Dewar's is just too pricey here in Ontario, $200. I'll likely check it out at some point, when I'm in a good whisk(e)y bar. I'm a Bushmills fan. The 12 isn't available anywhere near me, but I love Black Bush. It's a tasty lighter offering for those times when you don't want a high ABV. My favourite Canadian acquisition in 2024 was the Beaver's Dram (sherry finished) from Dunrobin, east of Ottawa. I'm hoping to get to the distillery at some point this coming summer. I haven't had their port finished yet, but I'll bet it's a good one too. Marvin brought me the Benromach 2013 Batch 1 CS from Strath Liquor in Victoria. Very nice Yule gift! It made it's way across the country on a transport truck, buried in a skid of books. Miraculously, it did survive! I plan on opening it on New Year's Eve with friends. Will make a nice memory. Wishing you, Lyn, and the whole crew, a delightful rollover into 2025!! See you on the flip side... Cheers, my friend 🥃🥃 Marian 🇨🇦
I have enjoyed everything from Benromach lately, I imagine the CS Batch 1 will be fantastic! Glad it made is safely. I wish you and Marvin a fantastic 2025, filled with great books and even better whisky! Cheers !
Nice list, Jon, though a lot of them are not in our market, so I can only go by your thoughts on them...I love Rye so your tips are noted in case a miracle happens & I get to see them somewhere. Cheers & Best wishes for the Year to come !
Thanks for dropping in Greg! I need to catch up on a few more of your videos. You do such an excellent job, it's worth spending the evening trying to sip along. Cheers to 2025!
What a fantastic way to end the year Jon. Solid choices across these categories. I have had a couple on your list but we are almost a dry province when it comes to availability and crazy prices. Thanks for all fantastic reviews in 2024 and cheers to the best of what 2025 may have in store for many of us.
Great year-end vid. Been meaning to try the HPCS. Just fell off my RADAR. Going back to their 12 now and the balance is overlooked, not to mention the value, at least in my market. Happy New Year to you, Northern Neighbor!🎉
I always look forward to your year-end lists! I have a bottle of Dewar’s 21-year-old Mizunara Cask waiting for the right moment to open and review, and it’s great to hear it’s earned your “Blended of the Year” award. It makes me want to open it that much more now. Maybe this will finally give me a reason as its been temping me for a few months now. You’ve been a big inspiration in my journey into Scotch and Scotch reviewing as a young channel, and I'm glad you're still doing these lists .. Wishing you and your family a great holiday season and a fantastic start to 2025. Cheers, my friend!
Makers 46 tugs at my heartstrings. Amazing the different between it and regular. This year Four Roses SiB just did it for me. My go-to these days. Gooderham and Warts when I am feeling a Canadian at an affordable cost. Also enjoyed the 12 year Bushmills at the campfire as well. New to me this year (can’t forget Nikka from the barrel either. Isn’t whisky great?) Cheers
Greatbyear end list Jon! I missed out on that Realms #2 but am certain it's a great one. I also had something Daftmill on my list. Your praise for both of these means alot because you seem to be very price conscious, and yet these are more expensive whiskies. It just tells me how much they must have blown you away. Cheers Neighbour. Here's to 2025 🥃
Thank you Jon for your thoughtful list. And what a list it is. I actually have/had two on your list. The Dewars and the Alberta. I still have quite a bit of the Dewars and will savor it. I also agree with the Milam and Greene and the Killowen - so good. Jon, may 2025 bring you peace and joy. May you be so blessed to enjoy the coming year with loved ones and close friends. Cheers!
@jimreichel1466 Thank you for the good wishes. I hope you, too, have a wonderful 2025 filled with joy and good cheer! I'm glad you have had a few of the same good ones I have been fortunate to enjoy, too!
I really enjoy your program - great choices. The Alberta rye cask strength is a monster, but so tasty! I’ll be in Canada (Newfoundland) for a few weeks next summer-would you recommend a Canadian whisky that I should try while I’m visiting? Thanks and happy new year from Vermont!
So many excellent releases, but sadly they are not available across all provinces. If you enjoy Single Malt, my favourites are Two Brewers, Bridgeland, and Shelter Point. However Macaloney's is certainly starting to catch my eye! For Rye, Sons of Vancouver, but they are always sold out. I enjoyed Downriver this year and Last Straw is fantastic. A great friend of the channel indicated I need to try "the Beaver's Dram (sherry finished) "from Dunrobin, east of Ottawa. So that must be good! It's a little over-hyped but Caribou Crossing is good whisky and a nice bottle to share with friends. I hope that gives you some ideas! Cheers!
The 12 is night and day better than their regular 10. I have not reviewed the 10 in a few years, but looking back, it's clear why I have not bought the regular 10 again. The 10 causway with Coniac finish and 46% is a different story though. I hope that helps, and cheers to a great new Year!

@djsaunter I imagine that Edradour SB was fantastic. I love the regular 12. The neighborhood isn't really that sketchy. Just people in a hard way. Just off 107. Happy New Year to you!

I have a bottle laser coded 2022 old label and 2024 new red label and they both taste just as good as each other. The 101 is better to me than everything except the 46 CS and Heart Release. The Cellar Aged were absolutely not worth the $150.
