TY for this analysis. With all of the other reviewers salivating over the Air 3S, you have provided some much-needed sanity for those who already own an Air 3. Great review!
As much as I love DJI products I want to be authentic with the videos I provide. I know I would have wanted the same for an actual pixel peep. Most reviewers have said if you already own the Air 3 no need to upgrade but if you have a Mini or older generation then Air 3S all the way. Appreciate the comment 🙌🏼
Cool video! So basically yeah, the problem with 48MP is those artifacts. I did some tests in different lighting conditions and from my observations shots with 12MP are very consistent in terms of detailization across the frame. While with 48MP some shots can have kinda unfocused areas closer to sides of the frame and straight lines are weirdly ai-ish curvy. Another problem I noticed - 48MP shots have problems with reflective surfaces. There are so many chromatic aberrations which makes these areas unusable for me, especially on smaller objects like electricity towers, cables etc. And at night 48MP just destroying a lot of information. But the 12MP camera is just surprisingly great. It would be nice to have a bigger resolution, at least 6K. But as I said, I just upscale it a little with Gigapixel Topaz with almost no quality loss
I have a Air 3 and I have ordered the Air 3S for for the improvement in photography. Image quality with improvement to the resolution is what first caught my eye. The Air 3S have some other upgrades that make it an a improvement from the Air 3. Good video, thanks.
Congrats on Purchase. It’s an amazing drone! I have a whole playlist on that Drone th-cam.com/play/PL9M1p8wLnkme5wA2Sn_HwMDQcj6e1Ow0e.html&si=-BhLU2uif-Irvn4X
I would love to go back to Dubrovnik with my Air 3s this time! I brought a mini 4 Pro with me last time and sadly it didn’t do me justice! Those longer flight times give you time to catch moments that happen spontaneously!
Hi Demetrios. Have seen a couple of your videos. First one was about GPS spoofing in Cyprus. I go there a couple of times a year. Just wondering with the Air3s what your take is on the smart RTH. Since it doesn’t rely on GPS for RTH, have you still seen any problems with potential flyaways and the drone going into ATTI mode? I’d love to do Episkopi next April and thinking about the Air3s as my next drone. Would welcome your comments 👍
This is definitely one video I want to make but I can find this out during my testing to see if I get GPS spoofed and then can note my experience with the Air 3S. Haven't had this yet which is both pro and con but for now I just need to fly. Air 3 still solid also.
@ considered the Air3 but I’d be coming from a Mini 3 Pro. Would love to do some low light in Cyprus so the 1 inch sensor is a game changer for me. The fact it can tolerate stronger winds than the Mini 3 pro and the smart RTH are what appeals.
Great video! i always enjoy your videos on drones! I've been waiting to get a another drone to complement my Dji mini pro 4! if you were going to buy something right now with a budget of $1500-$1800 Cad what would you buy? ( I do alot of video content)
OMG mate appreciate that, coming from someone who has close to half a mil subs! 100% Air 3S all the way! It's the Porsche Cayman of drones! I can't imagine it being much different but it's like having the GT4 RS version rather than GTS. What did you think of the image comparisons?
My guess as I don't have either drone is that, base on the sensor size, Air 3S might have a bit advantage while shooting in dark environments, also the Lidar sensor is practical to prevent the drone hit the glass. It is not a day and night difference, but it might be more attractive for the person doesn't have either to consider Air3S.
Well done video. I just don’t see the point in an upgrade from 3 to 3s. Thanks for sharing images. The image processing is very heavy handed. Even with sharpness and saturation to zero it still is adding some weirdness. The 3s adds more. I like to shoot stills z2:1 over video and for myself it would have made more sense to go to the Mavic classic vs the 3s if I did not have the mavic pro. I like the woodlands so British Columbia or Alaska with the abundance of views would be ideal.
This may have been when I converted the RAWs in Lightroom. I only hit auto edit. RAWs would have come out dull so only basic adjustments made. Most people who have the Air 3 I imagine wouldn't upgrade. I still one the best drones you can get right now but I wouldn't be disappointed if I still have the Air 3. Yes BC and Alaska would be great places to capture especially now in Autumn. Appreciate your comment. 🍻
HI buddy! Interesting video and i agree that there is no big difference between the two. I wonder however how does it look for night shots due to the chnages in software in Air 3s. Keep going with the new content, very interesting! Greetings from Poland!
Many thanks for your vidéo and the job you’ve done for it. Personally I’ve got an air 2s, and the 70mm sensor will give me a step forward, so I’m saving a bit of money and will sell my air 2s for the air 3s. Just something on your comparaison: on the jpeg, the figures about the 24mm and 70mm 12mp are the other way round between the air 3 and air 3s. Unless it’s not a decrease but an increase of size 9,5mb to 11mb and 10,5mb to 11mb 😉 Thanks a lot and all the best
Good spot on the charts I, they are transposed. I'll post correction on community post. Late nights when making these! The 70mm is underrated I love using it. Wish this was 1inch as well!
@ yes me too, 1inch both would have been a top 👍 drone. Just a question about the air 3s: is it ventillating or noisy when is filming without flying? In other words is it possible to use it as a normal camera as well? For example, for an interview, in a light setup, can we use it as a second camera without hearing the sound of the ventilation. Many thanks 🙏
Great video, I have the air 3 was excited to see what the S would offer, but the only thing like is the increase in speed 60 mph, who really flies when it's dark to need LiDAR, we need LiDAR type 360 avoidance, that can avoid obstacles at higher speed, I do not trust my air 3 obstacles avoidance which was one of the reasons I got it, it gets so close to the obstacle before stopping, my best tracking drone is the $200 Neo, why can't the air 3 track like that
The speed is only with a tailwind and LIDAR is useful.I would have found this useful for a gig I did last year during Christmas. I will be covering these in future videos. I never trust 360 avoidance either not fully but it's getting better. I've done some tracking but not ready to release that video yet. NEO is great! Didn't purchase tho

Agreed, everyone hypes up the air 3 s but tbh I dont see much to shout about especially to upgrade from my air3
Just the video I was looking for.. thank you so much..
Thank you for a very good lesson. It conferms my satisfaction with my AIR 3.
It still a fantastic drone. I will have more discoveries in future

Congrats on the Air 3S. Did you notice anything in the photos?
Thanks dude just pulled the trigger on a like new Air 3 for $1150 on Amazon. Saved almost $500

I remember when I first got the Air 3, felt like an age just being up there. To fly all 3 batteries in one spot you can be there a couple of hours!
Thanks! Finally found someone that does this comparison. Do you think there is more dynamic range in photo mode or the improvement is minimal?
I personally can’t see it. Maybe there is but very little. Video comparison coming soon

Yes I believe the same also, the differences will be at night! All the upgrades are nice and will shape the future. Thanks for your input. 🍻

I’ve taken some photos already in low light but I will doing a separate video on this like I did with Air 3. Coming soon.
Very useful. I mostly use my air 3 for photos and for my use it is good enough. Thanks for doing this video Dimmy 👍❤
Thanks Jaro, I know you were waiting for this one! Keep up the posts on Instagram loved the Northern light shots you posted recently. 🍻
you will do more videos about it??
Yes in the works. Video is next.
I know it's out of my budget but I would love to go Hawaii! For now I'll settle for the Greek Islands! What about you?
Many thanks for your vidéo and the job you’ve done for it.

Can someone tell me what's the maximum print I can expect from the 50MP pics of this camera without loss of image quality? Appreciate it.
This video will best answer your question. th-cam.com/video/ThpQWhOfKO4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=673h_-l6_U_OLfx0
Zoom on the same objects and put images side-by-side to see the the difference
Appreciate the feedback I will take this into consideration for next video. I have included the photos if you want to inspect for yourself.
Great job 👍
🙌🏼 Any feedback and what drone are you flying?
