Same, when i found out that he wanted everyone lonely and in their own world, i was little annoyed that this whole story was about someone becoming evil because they had no friends and felt lonely and wanted everyone to feel like this. But Nintendo executed it perfectly to show reclusa is pure evil
Im sure people skipped dialogue lines to beat the game. There were no reason, they explains earlier in the story that Reclusa has already destroyed others worlds and then it goes back into another world in an egg form. The loneliness / despair is just part of his power to accomplish this goal.
21:30 it was genuinely so satisfying to see Reclusa's expression go from "HA HA HA" to "I fucked up big time" as he is mercilessly beaten to death by two plumbers with mallets
So for once Bowser isn't in any shape or form the final boss. I mean we had Bowletta then Shrowser (debatable final boss) then Dark Bowser, Dreamy Bowser, Shiny Robobowser... I was half expecting Bowser to punch Reclusa out of the tree and we'd get Weeping Bowser.
Reclusa gave really reminded me of SMG4’s Mr. Puzzles and Hazpin Hotel’s Vox. Reclusa being this chaotic fiend who feeds off of loneliness and negative energy really was entertaining to watch. I also liked how he put Mario, Luigi, and Snoutlet in a virtual simulation of the Mushroom Kingdom. I knew something was kind of off the moment I entered the “Mushroom Kingdom”. All in all, Reclusa was fun to fight against.
Fun Fact *theres spoilers tho* 👇🏻 You might know this already, but the post credit scene takes place in the Super Mario Odyssey version of the Mushroom Kingdom, or a close replica.
The verry last scene of the credits might foreshadow this isn't the end of Concordia... They are gonna either make a sequel or do some good refrences in the future like they did with the Shroobs... Piss now i want to direct a sequel...

58 hours for me to do my first run through of the game 100% completion. All challenges of side quests done… And I teared up at the final goodbyes… especially with Buddy and Junior….. This game was a beautiful, and it’s a perfect way to kick off the rebirth of Mario and Luigi RPGs. It was great. I loved every minute every second of this game…
Bowser making sure "NO MEN LEFT BEHIND" is some PEAK "Mario & Luigi" writing and I am all for it. Like Brother Zangieg would say : "Just because you are Bad Guy, doesn't mean you are bad, guy"

Well the final exchange between Connie and Reclusa is kinda silly but not bad by any means. If gets the point across but i kinda expected more exposition. Overall a very enjoyable experience, the new development team is cool and im sure they will cook something even better later 🎉
The writing in this game falls kind of flat… being corny at some points, but I understand you can’t expect a lot coming from a Mario game. Connie’s whole thing was a little too “in your face” about the theme of the game. It’s like “in case you missed it here’s what we’re trying to convey about connections!” which feels a tad artificial. By no means is this game bad! But I just hope future titles improve this one flaw. Previous entries somehow seem not have trouble in this aspect. It’s just *something* in this game’s writing that feels odd.

This game specifically but even then, this game’s whole theming is bonding vs isolation. Reclusa being a man-child is very fitting imo because leave someone alone long enough and they’ll become absolutely insane. Plus he’s the only confirmed villain in the series to have wiped out worlds in their entirety, so it’s not like he’s incompetent.
Of course people that has not played the game commenting. Reclusa is far from it, as revealed earlier in the game he has actually destroyed worlds and then goes to another world in an egg to re-emerge again. He is the second Mario & Luigi villain that has actually accomplished his goal before, the first being the Shroobs who (presumably) conquered a planet and ran out of life force and had to choose another one to keep living. Redemption is off the table as his whole meaning is destroying new worlds, he comes in by controlling / deceiving people.
Hey, does anybody else get 'Astro Bot / Astro's Playroom' vibes from Reclusa? There is something about his design that makes me feel that he would be right at home in those games. And it's not just because Reclusa is a robot: Compare his personality with that of the main antagonist of 'Astro Bot'. They are both assholes purely for the sake of being assholes.
Something about Connie telling Reclusa to disappear ticks me off, she did, at least to my knowledge, nothing to help in the final fight against Reclusa, so why does she get to tell him to disappear? And don’t even mention the fact it was because of Reclusa that Connie’s mentor was the way they were during the game
She’s telling Reclusa to disappear bc he legitimately has no place in their world. Not only was he responsible for the destruction of many worlds before reaching Concordia, but he was a sadistic psychopath who was beyond redemption. Reclusa’s last moments before death was just him clinging on to his evil mindset and refusing to see reason, even going as far as to admit this himself. People like that genuinely have no place anywhere and I like how the game doesn’t shy away from the fact that there are some people who are simply irredeemable just as there are villains who can become redeemed such as the Extension Corps trio.
Reclusa is the easiest final boss I have ever players against. I beat him the first time normally but just for fun I beat him without doing anything for a second time. I used the auto excellent, protectus, bros boost, performance bonus, and glohm guard and the game literally beat him for me. They didn’t even have an EX version of him or anything. I thought it was really disappointing

They are textured, it's just that the footage is a wee bit over saturated cause I do not remember Luigi's skin color looking like that
