- Today, I focus in on the Scrap Polymer Clay technique of creating Lentil Swirls and dots!! We are once again taking out that mud clay from the dust bin of clay history and making it shine!! LOLOL!! This time, however, I give you a possible new method in creating the swirl that might be easier than trying to cup your hands to get that swirl…And in doing so these swirls are flattened and put together becoming “Cookie Swirls” and getting some very fun results!! LOLOL!! …So please, if you have a moment… CHECK IT OUT!! …and create some fun swirls in the clay!!

OH WOW you were not wrong !! What a brilliant way to use up ends etc. This is just briliant ! You can do soo much with these and the wire work *i had order some wire off of temu but its 26 guage hope that doesnt make a difference? * to try this LOL. I have a love of doing kalidascopes * can't spell lol* as well lol YES i does look like a cookie you could do so much like an oreo and have different flavoured* coloured inbetween hehehehe

It's when you get down to 30 gauge and smaller wire that it would be not so good, because the wire is so thin and "flimsy". And I soooooo love oreos!! And yep!! That is exactly what I was thinking when these came out the way they did!! LOLOL!! Great minds think alike!! LOLOL!! ...and as to the kaleidoscope thing...took me awhile to get that spelling right too!! Darn hard words!! LOLOL!!! Sending you my biggggg hugs!! :)

Hi am new to your channel, loved watching this video. I couldn’t quite understand how u do the swirl with your hands to get that shape. Your hands moved so fast I couldn’t tell how to do it. Love the designs, colours are so vibrant 💕
Welcome Miss Nina!!! Thank you for checking me out here and your kind compliment on my designs & colours!!! So, the thing with the swirl when you do it by hand is you need to cup your bottom hand, and slightly cup your upper hand. Both moving in different directions. Unfortunately, I had to speed up my film here on this because otherwise you would be getting pretty bored watching me swirl forever. LOLOLOL!! So, take your time in doing this, but make sure you move your hands together in creating the swirl fairly briskly. it takes a little bit to get that swirl moving. Ohhhhhh Deb!! I am soooo with you there!! I tried many times to do the acetate piece on the side...and what a pain!! I was never very good at it and hence, why you don't see me do it in the video. But, that's when it got me to thinking that surely you could do this "head on" and it would be successful...and sure enough I now am having WAAAAAAAYYY too much fun playing with swirls all over again!! LOLOLOL!! I do hope you were successful and again...sending you my biggest of big hugs!! :)

LOLOL!! I do hope you will try it Miss Victoria!! And wishing you luck...just remember, doing them by hand is a bit of a practicing thing. Takes a little bit to do, but as I always see it, the more you do the better you will become!! And as to finish...that is all sanding and buffing!! No varnish or resin, and because of that the shine will be there constantly and never wear off. Which is also why I liked doing the flattened lentil swirl so much....WWAAAAAAAAAYYYY easier to bring up to a high shine by sanding and buffing the swirl pieces. Thank you so much! These pieces are not paste or ceramic. These pieces are done with Polymer Clay… And it’s a technique that you can do using colored clay. I usually create these and make them into pendants to wear. They are baked pieces in the oven at 275°F. I usually bake them for about 10 to 15 minutes. And the clay is so much more fun I think than ceramics or even regular sculpture! Easier to deal with, and you can work with it right at home. I do hope you get at least a few bricks of Polymer Clay and try it out yourself. If the clay is a little bit hard, you do need to condition it… And I have a video on conditioning Polymer Clay on my channel as well.
