Please Don't Ask Me as a duet with Olivia Newton John is heartwrenchingly beautiful. If you want to experience his range try Gethsemane from the final night oh the Sydney run of JC Superstar, it's totally unbelievable. Wherever possible listen to live performances as the audience reaction elevates the experience. Thanks for this.
The whole of Australia loves this man, and anytime we have an emergency like a flood or fire the always donate his time to raise money to help his, absolutely ripper of a guy . He could have got a whole lot more known worldwide because as we know he can sing for sure that includes all genres, money was just happy to stay here and enjoy the accolades and home here with his family in Australia,. When you get into this artist your find out just had good his voice is.
Yes. Both John and his band and wonderful backing singers are always so generous in ANY time of need for Australia. (As are so many other Aussie performers such as Tina Arena, Delta, Jimmy Barnes. ) Enormous talent, but even greater generosity and empathy for others in times of need.
go see a live concert hes just as good, and even today he is in his 70s if he threw a concert it would sell out in seconds, he is called the voice here in australia...one of the greatest voices ever....go listen to help live concert....
The voice is the best in live concerts, the recording don’t even come close to what he is capable of in live concerts, always do live when listening to the voice.
That's our John. He was English born but is a true-blue Aussie (and was Australian of the year a while back). He's a brilliant singer and has been around since the '60s. Just for your interest, he performed this song with Olivia Newton John when he was in his 50s. He and Olivia are good friends and have worked a lot together. John's live performances are amazing. You won't be disappointed in anything John sings. Here's his performance live with Olivia: th-cam.com/video/2uV_tZODfK8/w-d-xo.html
Oh yes we know our John Farnham born 1949 in the UK. His Family emigrated to Australia when 10. First single aged 18 I think. Was still singing until COVID hit, thus no concerts. Even people who aren’t into his music say he has an amazing voice. My son has never been into him at all, but he admitted he often listens to him lol. Yes his range is amazing - and never had a singing lesson. Happily married, gee must be about 50 years. He’s a total gentleman, never turns fans away. his manager has to drag him away lol, and funny and very humble. An all round good man, husband, father and singer.
Thanks for your reaction. You gotta react to John live. Help and When Something is Wrong with my Baby with Jimmy Barnes on Hey Hey its Saturday would be a good start. Thanks for covering our aussie brother.
@@DebraBing There's a few things. This was the single for the "Full House" live album that was released in 1991. The liner notes from Full House state it was recorded live in 1989. You also can clearly hear the MSO in the arrangement. If you're still not convinced, the crowd applause at the end gives it away. I don't know why they decided to film a video clip rather than use the live footage. Just an artistic choice I guess.

John Farnham was at his best from 1986 to 1994. He did a concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in 1989 and other concerts (1987, 1988, 1990) that were video recorded. Many of the songs performed in these concerts can now be found on YTube and showcase John Farnham, in my opinion, at his best. Fantastic performances by both John and his band. Whispering Jack was his best selling Album released in October 1986.
Live version of "You're The Voice" with the Melbourne Orchestra ... you will never recover. Lol you WILL go down the Farnham rabbit hole!! (Pronounced: "Farn-um"

Good Lord. there are many many great John Farnham songs to react to in varying styles. Not all his songs are like this one. He can rock hard as well as belt out a beautiful ballad. Keep going. You wont be sorry.
This artist has been around since the 60's and is a good friend of Olivia Newton John's. They worked together in 2000 at the opening ceremony of the Sydney Olympic Games on a duet - it's on youtube. Called DARE TO DREAM. One of his first peformances in Australia was as a teenager on BANDSTAND, a show ONJ is familiar with too. It's called SADIE THE CLEANING LADY and he is a young teenager in 1967. It's on youtube too. BUT the one you need to get hold of is the version of YOU'RE THE VOICE with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. He is known down under as THE VOICE. Hollywood wanted him, but he didn't want to leave Australia. Surprised you haven't heard about him before. Many of his hits are on here including a duet with Jimmy Barnes (Australia's former king of rock). He did a wonderful album called WHISPERING JACK in 1986. Celine Dion loves him and his song YOU'RE THE VOICE. She attempts to sing it at her concerts but her rendition is nothing like his.
John is an awesome talent, such a powerful voice and even better live. If possible always react to his live performances they are always mind blowingly good. To get an idea of his versatility try When Something is Wrong With My Baby, he does with another Aussie legend, Jimmy Barnes. And ofc LIVE!
John Farnham seems to hold back on recordings like this. Too much management involved in the end product. Stifles him a bit, in my opinion. His live performances are full voice and he is a natural showman which enhances the experience. Farnham is The Voice.
Thanks so much Chad. This song has a special meaning for me and a relationship that wasn't meant to be many years ago. Appreciate this review. Now I'll push for Bee Gees funny moments. Hehe. I didn't give iup on ya either.
