I grew up in TN, my dad and I would go walk the field after he plowed and it rained we always found a few arrowheads and a bunch of pretty rocks that ended up in a pile around the porch.
I love just kicking back and listening to Elizabeth excitingly geek out on specimens, so much knowledge can't stop watching and wanting to know more. I now want to vacation and try and dig up/mine and start a collection of my own. So fun keep up the great work.
Pink marble was considered a really "classy" building material, and you'll find wall facings and such made out of pink marble in many public buildings, especially theaters, libraries, and schools. The elementary school I went to back in the 1950s had pink marble facings around the doorways to the auditorium. The pink marble had starkly contrasting black veins, which made it very attractive-looking.

I live in south west tn. Finally found a creek this week containing agates and agates with banding. It also has a lot of quartzite, chert, quartz geodes about golf ball size, yellow jasper, and red jasper. Im sure there are other things there. Are banded agates rare in tn.

Actually your videos inspired me to become a gemologist but the problem is that I know NOTHING about the method/process or what am I supposed to do after graduating HS to become a gemologist. and I’m gonna be a senior in HS next year. 💖🥺 So can you please upload a video explaining the process to us who want to be a gemologist, thanks. 💖

There are many paths you can take within this industry, from jewelry appraisal to working in a gem lab, but to get you started any of these education routes is the key to moving forward. Two great places to start are 1. Working in the retail jewelry trade, to gain some knowledge and experience. 2. Study for a recognized gemological qualification through an established and reliable educational organization such as GIA (Gemological Association of America) or Gem-A (The Gemmological Association of Great Britain) each provide Distance (online) learning programs or in person classroom study. JTV will be running the Gem-A course from September 2020. www.jtv.com/gemstones/education These organizations and others also have great free educational websites and resources including JTV's Gemopedia and Gem discovery App. Also attend as many industry trade shows and seminar as possible, and basically network. We wish you every success on the start of your gemological journey!

Not sure what you are calling pink marble in St. Louis. The City Courthouse in St Louis is made of pink granite from the Elephant Rocks State Park in Missouri.
In regards to marble being used in buildings , go to Baltimore city. You can’t go a block without running into marble steps. It is the white variety and people used to take great pride and care of their marble steps by giving them a strong washing maybe once a season or so to keep them brilliant white. Now, not so much, which is a shame because there are still many marble steps in Baltimore, just not as white and clean as they were.
