    Change the springs on the clutch for stronger ones so when you release the lever it engages the gearbox quicker, or you can tighten the screws that increase clutch function, if they can be tightened, cheers

    • @ashleyod1346
      @ashleyod1346 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can see that the clutch slips a lot when you release it so definitely worth stripping it down, change the friction plates too, the clutch is one of those things that can fail on a Japanese bike, have had a few over the years, cheers Matt great vids.

    I've giveen you a like Matt, just because I see you on a motorcycle for a change. Yeah it has been cold out on the bikes, I was out on my fireblade on Friday. So glad they make heated grips, gloves and heated waisecoats. My toes and fingertips wer hurting even after just a few miles though. As for the Ridgeway, I've done a few miles on that, Reading to Oxford on a Honda 330/ a lot of fun but the bike wasn't really designed for that terain, some miles on a CanAm Bombadier 125 which was quiet and very suited for it, and a little time on a Honda ATV 110 trike before they got bannned. I got the rear wheels stuck ina rut, and being used to two wheels, I put my feet down to push out of the rut same time hitting the thumb throttle, the rear knobbly tyres went right up calves and pulled my backside down into the seat crushing the family jewls in the process. That was of all places was Skutcheimers Knob or as the locals call it sratching my knob. You can find it on the mabe, not far from Wantage, East Hendred way. That was back in 1978 and first biker party I went to with the UBs. I was about 15 then.. I also did a lot of miles on a Hoda c50, and had to walk all the way back as too many parts had fallen off for me to get it running again with out tools so thanks for doing this one, just remembring the times I had there has put a smile on my face and only 1 minute into the video

    If the clutch is grabby I'll bet the clutch plates have worn grooves in the clutch basket and made it snatchy, also putting modern car engine oil in them can cause clutch slip/ long clutch issues as it's full of ptfe, bike clutches don't like that stuff, if you worry about leaving your indicators on Matt try wiring a buzzer to the light on the dash or fit a super bright LED somewhere on the dash that's within your field of vision, loving the new bike tour videos 👍

    Second Father McCree for the Clutch Basket! Groves in those make it notchy. Shaving cream was an old trick for the visor, or splash out on a Pinlock. A Shoei Pinlock Visor (double glazed in laymans terms) costs around £25 and you can kiss goodbye to fog. Keep the bike stuff going, it is interesting.

    To ride ruts you need to keep relaxed, preferably stand up on the pegs and don’t look down, look ahead and keep a constant throttle, you’ll naturally go where you look. TTR’s are quite front heavy like my XR400, so reducing the fork sag by reducing the air gap and fitting higher bars helps, makes them more comfortable when you’re up on the pegs too.😉
    Sounds like you need a new clutch and file the notches down on the clutch basket which can make them grabby.

    See what mean with people pulling out of junctions on bikers expect them all to do so so your ready for them this has served me well and shall serve you well👍 seems like the cable is adjusted to tight that cable shud have two adjustment points on it one on leaver and one that is connected to the engine. The leaver shud have a little bit of play to insure that the clutch is fully engaged or that the cable should have a tiny bit of slack

    I have owned many motorbikes and due to work times it was sometimes very cold, I had many crash helmets but the best for the anti fog problem was a lazer brand one that was like a darth Vader type thing, I know lazer are not the best brand but very good for what I wanted it for, the inside mask made breathing easy and vented everything out, now of course it would interfere with your voice over but brilliant for cold conditions. So depending on if you wanted it solely for speaking it would be useless but if not a brilliant helmet. You can also buy anti fog spray but found this useless.

    Take an alcohol wipe or salt water and a soft cloth and wipe your visor before you leave it'll stop it from fogging up constantly help me when my night vision goggles kept fogging up on me. And honestly I'd go with some swat boots or military combat boots steel toe and very very comfortable trust me I spent a lot of time in combat boots and they never once let me down as long as you keep your feet dry and socks dry they will keep you warm and you'll have plenty of flexibility nothing will ever beat military gear only thing left in the world that is still built to last and take a hell of a beating guys are still using gear from ww2 and Vietnam and it still holds up better then most civilian stuff made today.
