Thanks for sharing!! It looks absolutely beautiful! I have a grandfather clock that was my parents and debated on getting rid of it. Then I thought of painting it. I considered painting it black. Now that I see how beautiful it can be, it looks like I will be keeping and painting it. I never realized just how many people paint these clocks until I began researching it. :)
Beautiful job Kimberly! Q for you-how do you determine whether or not you need to prime a piece? Priming is so time consuming, but I’ve been afraid NOT to prime b/c of cautionary tales by others. And your dear Mom is a keeper!
Thank you! It's one of those things - Priming! If I am painting white or a very light color over something that I think may bleed - Cherry, Mahogany, Golden oak, red oak - I will just prime. When you using dark colors I am more lenient on that rule of thumb. She is awesome
I have one that no longer works. Thought about converting it into a curio cabinet, but was afraid it wouldn’t paint well. Now I know it’ll turn out great! Thanks for sharing this!
Hello! I was wondering how you keep black pieces like this looking so rich/deep. I've painted a few pieces in my home black but they always look hazy/grayish (no top coat applied, used General Finishes Lamp Black) Any tips on why this is happening or how to fix it?
Hi! So unsealed dark (navy, black, etc.) are very prone to fingerprints and haziness when wiping/cleaning. I always top coat my black or in this case I used GF Enduro Poly - which is a paint and poly in one and it alleviates that look your talking about. Look into that paint (it is spray only) or Melange ONE - I have a discount code for that one (BORNINABARN10) - it is a primer, paint and topcoat in one or Dixie Belle Silk - same an all in one that will help achieve that rich black look. Hope that helps
The index card hack is fantastic. Thank you for sharing!

Of course! Yes this was for a client and they loved the result

Wow! That’s stunning and an amazing transformation 🥰
Thank you so much
Absolutely beautiful!
Beautiful 💕 love the black!
Looks amazing!
The black gives it that Ebony look. I would have stained it dark oak or Mahogany. You definitely improved the look of the clock.
Thanks - yes not my choice it was a custom for a client and they choose the look! 😀

That's a good idea! Your so welcome! Thanks for watching!
Dont. Get it repaired and let it work, it's made to keep time, not to be converted into a curio cabinet.
It looks awesome. Great spray job, nice colour.
The only thing I don’t understand is why this video only has 500 views?
Thank you very much! I don't understand it either! haha! Thank you so much!
Great job! I was just going to ask about what you do in between coats - leaving paint in the sprayer, answered my question!
Great! Thank you for watching! 😀
Thank you!
Wow ✨
Was that a chalk paint, or no? I love your videos. Thank you so much for all of the great information.
No this one was a paint called enduro poly (a spray only paint and poly in one) thank you so much!
Would this still be a doable project if we don't have a sprayer and wanted to hand paint?
Absolutely - it may just take a little longer is all

@@BorninaBarnBoutique Thanks so much! Love your channel 🖤
Did you use gloss paint?
I used a semi gloss at the clients request
