Scenic Plane Spotting at Salzburg Airport, SZG | 27-01-24

Welcome to Salzburg Airport, one of the busier ski destinations in Europe. During the Winter months, typically between January and April, the airport sees regular flights from charter airlines like TUI and Jet2 as well as increased activity from other carriers like SAS, Norwegian, Lufthansa etc. This was a peculiar day actually as due stronger than usual prevailing winds the airport was using Runway 33 for arrivals which is quite a rare occurrence due to the surrounding terrain. This made for some extremely scenic approaches into the airport as you will see during the video! Another thing to look out for in this video is a great number of waving pilots as they pass the spotting hill. Always great to see that bit of interaction
