Companies are seeing their 4th Quarter results & are acting accordingly. A recession in 2025 to start Trump's 2nd term. 👍
Add in the upcoming tariffs, retaliatory tariffs & mass deportations (seen estimate costs of about $80bil/1mil) & Make America Broke (Again) will be the new Trump's slogan. 👍

Happy Harris lost because with Republicans with the Washington DC trifecta they will have to finally goven & deal with a recession & Trump's trade war (where I have seen estimates of his 1st trade war costing about 200k jobs). 👍
Harris with a Republican Congress would have been a lame duck President. Republicans love to obstruct when having 1 chamber of Congress (Senate during Obama's last 2 years & House under Biden's last 2 years).

If parents don’t say no, the kid is most definitely not going to just take it upon themselves to limit ipad use. My granddaughter was an avid reader but got to the point she didn’t want to read; she wanted to play games on iPad at night. My daughter started rule ipad could not be in her room at bedtime and only used an hour a day. Otherwise there would be no communication between kids and parents.
Some of her friends have unlimited iPad time and would be texting at 2am. When my daughter mentioned to their parents that daughter (she’s 10) not allowed on iPad after 7 on school nights they didn’t realize their kids were still up at 2am. If we think our kids aren’t getting a good education now, I fear what technology will do for the current generation. The biggest factor in low sales is AC hasn’t come out with any new technology in there sleds so nobody’s upgrading.. Polaris is still feeling the pain of not delivering sleds that could be sold because of recalls.. ski-doo is selling every sled the can deliver in the PNW and their side by side sales are still breaking records here..

The reason Polaris is junk is because they make ‘new’ stuff every year or 2, with minimal R&D invested. iMHO, Arctic Cat stepped up in the last 5 years and now makes the funnest, best sled, hands down. Vs. Ski Doo which basically does everything for you, when its not broken that is. Not fun to me. What I dont understand is why Cat make stellar sleds, but the rest of their offerings are just junk…

I live in western Canada, we have had a couple years of low snow causing people not to upgrade their sleds, but the biggest complaint on not up grading or buying one to get into the sport, is sleds are way to expensive. The hemelts, suits, boots, fuel, trailers, permits, insurance etc all put sledding out of reach. People are struggling to exist on paychecks now with all the carbon taxing and government waste. When it comes to people feeding families or going sledding, its obvious which one wins. The recreational business will not recover until economies improve and costs come back down to reality. I feel for the workers let go and hope they can get new jobs soon.

No mention of the obvious?! PRICES! The "toy" industry is experiencing the same issues the car market is experiencing. They are becoming victims of their own greed. People are waking up and saying no to these outrageous prices. I quit riding snowmobiles years ago when the price of a new snowmobile went over $4000.00. Now, many are over $10,000!! Thats ridiculous! Same thing with side by sides. Not only are they expensive to buy, but they are way too expensive to maintain. They are designed to break down and wear out (just like automobiles) causing you thousands more in repair and parts. I don't miss it at all! And I sit back now and smile as I see these corporate giants go belly up in their own greed.

Philosopher Eric Hoffer said something relevant: “In a time of drastic change it is the learners who inherit the future. The learned usually find themselves equipped to live in a world that no longer exists.”
Skyrocketing prices, reduced snowfall, and demographic changes created a perfect storm that is gutting the snowmobile industry. Manufacturers want to continue making what they’ve been making instead of looking for novel ways to provide snow recreation at markedly lower cost. I made a motorized toboggan in 1996 that was very inexpensive yet more fun than any snowmobile I’ve had. It could be easily adapted to operate A-OK with little or no snow. This is one of several alternatives that manufacturers should consider to supplement snowmobile sales that very likely will continue to plummet.

Snowmobile manufacturers should explain why their prices have increased substantially more than the overall rate of inflation. For example, I purchased my last new snowmobile for $7000 in 1997. A comparable model is now almost $19,000, which is 37% greater than what one would expect from the general rate of inflation since then. Everyone knows inflation is high, but snowmobile inflation is very high. Why?
One guess is that as sales have plummeted, manufacturers had to charge more per unit to pay their fixed costs.

It's hard to ride a snowmobile when there is no snow. I live in Upstate NY and winters have changed drastically since I was growing up. Back in the 60's and 70's and even the early 80's it was normal to have a snowy winter with temps consistently below freezing. In mid to late January the low temps could drop as low as -25 degrees. For the past few years the lowest temps of the season would be no more than 10 degrees above zero. Last year I never even used my snowblower once. The snow storms tend to be more mixed precipitation (slush) rather than actual snow storms. This has affected our ski industry as well. It's hard to make snow in January when the high temps are in the 40s and 50's.
