There isn't an "Indian" language! India has hundreds of languages. The most common one is Hindi, and the songs you heard in this medley are in Hindi. Hindi and its sister languages are very melodious. They have soft consonants and consonant-vowel harmony, so they just flow off the tongue. One of the sweetest languages of this family is perhaps Bengali. Listen to Arijit's song "Tomake Chai" which is in Bengali, to get a feel for that language. It's a great song too!

Almost all indian singers have a background in Indian classical music and songs are poetry set in motion and the theme is generally love .... that generates the flow . Most of these famous indian singers come from the Indian state of Bengal where it is tradition for kids to learn classical music and dance from a very early age. If you were to stroll down middle class bengali neighbour hoods in Kolkata ( capital city of Bengal) on a Sunday morning , you would hear the faint medley of live music filtering through as children rehearsed ..... the foundation was always hindustani classical and thereafter it was always Rabindra Sangeet ( songs written by the famous bengali poet and Nobel laureate Rabindra Nath Tagore) ... bengali is only one of the 36 official indian languages and the bollywood indian songs you have been hearing are sung in Hindi. Try to get english translations of these songs as it will add another dimension to the listening experience and if you have the time and inclination listen to some Indian Classical music ( lots to choose in you tube on hindusthani classical and carnatic classical music ) and hopefully will get some idea on indian culture and tradition.
