    Do you think Chevy has changed the performance field with the new Corvette?

      The interior is definitely better. I believe the performance will be there.....

      I think this bumped the Porsche Cayman from #1 position in my 2 seat sports car wish list.

    I definitely think this will be a game changer. I also talked to multiple dealers and most either flat out lied out mark ups or were up front about them. They ranged from $5k-$30K. I was luck enough to find a dealer that said they don’t mark up their cars and would sell me one for under MSRP! I only have to put down a $500 deposit. I’m also putting another deposit down for the forthcoming Z06 variant as well.

    • @ISFASTER
      @ISFASTER  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s great to hear there are some dealers that are selling from for at or under MSRP! I applaud those dealerships and hope they get more business because of it. If the Z06 is going to be what I suspect, supercars are going to be running for the hills! Exciting times we’re in.

  • @unknownunknowns
    @unknownunknowns 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks like it is going to be a huge hit!
    If they are to uprate the engine, then it would have to be turbos with a slightly smaller displacement because using the engine from the C7 Z06 or another from the ZR1 would cause it to tailspin like the 911 because the wheels would have to cope with all that weight and torque while cornering.

    • @ISFASTER
      @ISFASTER  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would certainly seem that way! I’m glad it’s going to be mass produced and not be an unobtainable vehicle for most!

    • @ISFASTER
      @ISFASTER  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed. I read and heard a 4.2L V8TT is in the works which sounds believable. Probably be another year before that released but I’m excited to see this car progress up the performance ladder.

    • @unknownunknowns
      @unknownunknowns 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      ISFASTER That’s great but I just hope GM won’t jack up the price too much, as I hope GM can preserve the Corvette’s reputation for being the sports car for the masses.

    A dealer markup of 5k? Is that the norm when a new Corvette comes out. I wouldn't pay over MSRP.

    • @ISFASTER
      @ISFASTER  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’ve seen other people get these for MSRP already but it’s up to that dealership what they want to do. What’s great about this car is that there will be 10s of thousands of Corvettes produced so it’s not like this is some ultra exclusive car that you either pay the price or hit the road. I’m sure dealerships are taking advantage of the hyped right now so unless you HAVE TO be one of the first ones with this car I bet you’ll be able to get it at MSRP in no time.

  • @Tigerex966

    I never thought I would see the day where you could not buy a new corvette with a manual and chevy tells you...
    They will never ever ever offer it in and corvette of any version again.
    Meanwhile civic si, miata, golf, gti, and golf r, Porsche, and the current corvette and Camaro with more power and less space for one do.
    All of these great engineers and they refuse to allow a manual.
    Not because they cannot.
    But because they are not allowed to.
    This is like the headphone jack on phones it's shows the greed.
    Manuals are cheaper to buy, maintain, repair, and replace, in general.
    lighter weight higher top speed but slower to shift.
    And make a lot less profit before during and after the sale for service and maintenance, and we cannot have that.
    Wired headphones are on average the same but they have a wire in the way and do not need sealed batteries that make wireless one useless after a year or two of heavy use and radiation around your head to operate.
    Both have their pluses and minuses both were available before but now you must buy a dongle to do what you use to do for free double dipping.
    I think Chevy will offer a manual but it will cost more than the dual clutch but it may allow the car to operate in either mode.
    That would not be to bad but it's still double dipping.

    • @ISFASTER
      @ISFASTER  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe Chevy will eventually put one in but from what I’ve read the manual sales even on the C7 were a much lower percentage than the auto, 15-20% of all sales if I remember reading correctly. Time will tell.

    • @Tigerex966
      @Tigerex966 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ISFASTER 15-20% is not a small amount all things considered.
      But I do think you are right car and driver is reporting I believe that they can add a electric clutch that sends info to the dual clutch to put it in the right gear and it may have adjustable clutch weight and engagement points and be able after a car shut off and to be put in fully dsg mode with paddles if true it will be the first of its kind and the best of both worlds but would add a few thousand to the dsg cost.
      The other option is to go for a modified tremec 7 speed true manual transmission only in the base form but not in the higher spec models to come.
      Does anyone have the list of the last 5 year's auto to manual sales of the base stingrays corvette?

    Enough prancing around showing the car off. When will we actually know what the car can do. All performance data is hypothetical. How about a road test with some actual numbers? I can’t believe people are putting down deposits on these. I know it will be fast but seriously, how about some actual hard data. For example, what if the best 0-60 they can get on a road test is 3.4? They better be able to substantiate their claims. This all coming from a corvette driver and lover of the new one. We’ve been teased for months about what it will look like and now we have to be teased about its performance.

I saw a Shelby sit at a Ford dealership for over a year because they wanted 20 grand over MSRP. They didn't get it either. They finally sold it at MSRP, lol.
