Malkauns is one of the most mysterious ragas. Its is easier to present it in its conventional forms, but it demands a lot of courage to show its hidden beauty and make you feel the mystery. And Kumar ji was such a dare devil. He was unconventional not because of his rebellion nature, but this approach came from his deep understanding of music and intense thirst of a true artist to create.
I Love Kumar Gandharvaji and would have loved to have attended his presentations. He was a Gandharva who played with the notes and you often hear him laughing at what he's just created in his recordings. Thank you for uploading this. Videos of KG are very rare on youtube.
Kumarji is simply great....especially in singing lilting drut(s). It's also a delight to watch sheer glee & admiration on the face of the tanpura accompanist from time to time.
A supermelodious song by pandit kumara gandhava, that will remain deep in the minds of every one of its devoted listeners for ever. He has carved a niche for himself on the pillor of hindhusthaani classical music.
