I have been having sore stomach pains on and off this week, and googling all sorts of stuff, but just randomly looked to TH-cam for wind relieving exercises (as my doctor thinks it's just trapped wind), anyways this video appeared. I didn't pass any wind but my pains have gone, so this exercise has done something to my stomach area thank god. 👍Will continue to use it. Cheers.

Hysterical posts aside (very hysterical) this was very helpful. I have a digestive disorder that makes me break down food a bit slower than most folks so fruit and veg almost ferment in my gut. I get balloon gut, which is very very uncomfortable. This pose really helped relieve the painful pressure (no farts, hopefully later) and the sharp pains. Thanks so much A! ✌🏼
This wouldn't work for me so I flipped over and did a little downward dog with the hopes of the gas rising out. (Right? It's gas so it should rise?) well it worked! Use this session to massage your organs and if you're still gurgly in the tum, just stick your butt in the air above your shoulders. Toot on!
Pose is slightly modified. We call it pawan mukt aasan. It does not mean every time we do it, we wil release wind. Thumb rule is do yoga asan after four hours after taking food. U can watch videos of bhartiya yog sansthan which is a non profit organization doing selfless service with motto jio aur jiwan do.

Honestly, I have the cheapy mats. But, I do like Jade for non slip! And Manduka as well. In fact I have a little travel Manduka mat that I lay on top of my mat sometimes and its great. Hope this helps!

Do you have variations for when you have to teach a class to seniors, old aged peeps? Can you keep the stretched out leg bent and the leg bent into chest not straighten out after exhale and nose to knee, but just bent and place that foot next to other foot on floor? Many of them have tight hips and struggle to lift their legs, to even pull their knee into chest for complete half wind release pose.
