These boats are worth $10k at most, no matter how much work has been done. Don't get ripped off thinking it's a bluewater boat. You're paying extra at the docks for the bow sprit and no extra living space. Small cockpit and wet as hell. If you are on a budget, don't pay more than $10k. It will work, but you can do way better for the price people ask for these. Don't buy the hype. I've sailed thousands of miles and have first hand experience with these.
There are complaints these are slow and in light airs that's true in trade winds they do really well and in a hurricane or cyclone this is the boat you want to be in at sea , having that said , living in one is a different matter , they have a very deep hull , if you fall down the steps you will be hurt it's a long way down , it's narrow an gloomy , it's about the size of a walk in closet with cathedral ceilings , a large suv has more living space , a young guy/girl could take one around the world , an older couple would be so exercised trying to climb on deck they wouldn't have the strength to hold the tiller let alone change a sail left in them , and in the small quarters the stench of living may become unbearable unless your newly married and in love , a fit 70/80 year old man who wants to die at sea would be a good fit for this boat or a couple of young kids who got it for a song and want to take a year or so to travel before Uni an see some of the world , I was in love with these until I actually started shopping and realized this is not the boat to retire on , this is like living in a hundred buck a month room over a bar with loud music an your neighbours want to stab you type of boat . my two cents 🙂
@@Mme.Swisstella Yes I have , one glass one steel , was looking at to buy , at the time had three kids and as much as I admire them for sea keeping they were to small for that size of a family , be ok for a couple but that's my opinion might be fine for others same as any boat , why do you ask ?
@@pl7868 i asked because i wanted to hear such opinion coming from someone who actually had experienced the (which i have not) and i had the impression that they were relatively roomy as far as 32ft sailboat goes and whatwith the 11ft beam.
@@Mme.Swisstella They are beamy an have tons of headroom but they are very basic , v-berth up front , head on one side locker on the other , the salon , lots of steps from the cockpit down it seemed to me , sorta felt like standing in a long deep bowl if that makes any sense , motor under cockpit and a double ender so that's pretty much it aft , that's what I remember but was probably 30 years ago , o the normal galley deal at the steps , the steel one had a woodstove in it , dunno where you would store wood though
@@Mme.Swisstella Also that steel westsail was in fantastic shape and he only wanted 25,000 for it , for the right person they may be a real bargain for an offshore boat
Use wide angle lens.
A go-anywhere boat. Just not in a hurry.
But you'll get there in one piece, unlike some flimsy cr@p that modern sailboats are.
Don’t get too awful excited, there folks. Chiwawa
R450k and only a radio? For that money, I want to be able to step on with my food and clothes and set sail.
You can get a morgan 31 built in SA for 100k less same class, maybe a bit quicker
@norml.hugh-mann 100k less than R450 000

Ahhh yes...the "wet snail" 32 ...go anywhere...slow
Have you sailed in one?
Actually...yes...and, yes they do have their place in the annals of sailboatdom...if I were traversing an ocean, that would be an option!
A face for radio and not for selling yachts🤣
May i see a photo of your self please.
