Trim is very mind numbing. Easy, but can get boring quick. Roughing is fun, but also gets old. At least w commercial, there's a bit of variety.

I never thought of running mag masters on your everyday belt. Seems like a great idea; instead of dropping your pliers in your pocket they stick to your side.

Very useful for a number of reasons. Keys, tools, random metal stuff. And hidden away. Much better on your pants, since they dont get mangled up by tools. Good stuff

@@wackyweyland8857 I always hate when I through pliers in my pockets because the handles inevitably spread out and wedge themselves making them hard to get in out. Magmasters work really well 👍

My daily setup is running 3 mag masters and a drill master. Two of the mag masters are on my normal belt with my drill master and my mp1x. One mag master goes on my carhartt suspenders.
Normally use them most to hold screws / bits / any metal bits I don’t wanna lose
One mag master will easily hold a whole hand full for screws you can pull off one at a time.

    • @JustinSpakable
      @JustinSpakable 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@robholland5925 I originally bought the magmaster to hold my hammer. I was looking for a holster that doesn't break your hip if you bump a wall, like a typical metal ring type. A leather holster didn't work w my milwaukee hammer as rubber doesn't like leather. And then I found myself using my magmaster for everything. I use three on my normal belt and one on my tool belt. No belt, I run a pair of forged strippers front right, kleins back right and auxiliary tool on the left back. Whether it's a reamer or parts. Magmasters changed the game for me

@@JustinSpakable yea they did for me too. I’m can be a bit chaotic at times so having the ability to literally stick things to my person instead of putting them down and losing them pays for them alone.
Like take something apart and I really can’t lose these 3 little screws or it won’t work again. Well they ain’t falling of a mag master that’s for bloody sure.
And I hated sticking my hand in a pouch full of sharp screws only to stab myself
Now I just peal one of the bunch
The only thing stopping me from using them on a chest rig is that my company requires me to wear company logo shirts and does not want them covered in a chest rig or tool vest.

    - the plano box has random screws, plate screws
    - both milwaukee and klein allen keys are sae
    - i have the klein mc cutter, its great. The milwaukee feels and works better, to me.
    - i absolutely love the m12 stapler
-milwaukee hoodies, non heated, are cheaper and better than carhartt. I love carhartt but milwaukees are better quality. And they run larger sizes, yes. I wear large, but buy medium in their mid weight hoodies

Yeah. It gets pretty cold out this way. But as they say, the heat is in the tools! And I was in a water treatment plants tunnel the other day working on a lighting circuit that was 480 and live. The nice gentlemen who wired it initially tied a lot of essential pumps and motors to the lighting circuit so we couldn't de energize it. It was fun. No one got blasted.

I see stuff like that on what we call a hospital circuit. It's a nickname we give to a breaker that has a lockout or reminder that this is an essential line to mission critical things. Sometimes they put a interlock with a lock on it. To us that know don't be guessing and turn that off and I like when they make things stupid proof.

Also keep an eye out at local supply houses too I got my soft shell as a barley opened return and it was just over 100 dollars because of it. My woman got all her hoodies and jackets because of a special program. They wanted more women in the trades so a local union female electrican I know ought them for me since they offer only women 50% off women's heated gear. Us men don't matter 😆. So thanks to her I spend under 100 dollars a jacket or hoodie for the woman but she loves them none the less. Keep an eye out for programs like that makes Christmas gifts for mom alot cheaper!

It's funny Comercial electrical dosent require insulated tools. I know overseas it's requires or why not. Alot of big sites here simply demand no live power period. Thank goodness for battery tools. Out of the 3 or 4 electricians I know 3 of which are in the Comercial space I carry more insulated tools than them. The people on the lower end of work residential handyman situations carry more insulated tools. If we had more isolation of power like in eu maybe things would change around here.

I haven't gotten any insulated tools because I never found myself wishing I'd had em. I'm lucky and careful enough to work in live panels and such but I do intend on getting some insulated hand tools, eventually. Also, the contractor is to provide the testing equipment required to megger and such. But I do want to build up my testing equipment more and more every year.

Definitely an IBEW electrician. That's obvious. It's interesting that union electricians can now have non-USA made tools. Even the parent company of Milwaukee is Hong Kong China. When I joined the IBEW in 1980 @ 18 years old you could only have American made tools. Today, I routinely see Knipex, Wera, Vessel, etc. in union wireman tool bags. HaHa, I brought a B&D electric screwdriver to the jobsite and the union job steward told me either the electric screwdriver goes home to stay or I could go home and stay with it. I thought it was ridiculous but he made it clear we were not in a hurry. Manual screwdrivers only. Drills were to make holes not install screws. No battery hand tools and definitely not non American tools. We were to work steady but not fast. Now I'm retired and what was a big deal then isn't now. Owners of foreign cars had to park them across the street from the union hall or the union would have them towed. Boy how things have changed. BTW I have all of the tools I mentioned above and I still love Klein. I even have some Craftsman tools that I still enjoy. Blessings to all

Lately the milwaukee usa screwdrivers are so grossly miss machined it's comical. I get that and even the usa government does the same for the military demands usa made tools in alot of roles. Yeah. They still give grief to guys in subarus and nissans. I drive chevy but I mean even chevy isn't actually american. But when I started, over a decade ago, most all klein was american made. Nowadays, you're hard pressed to find american made klein tools. Or they bring em out sometimes and call em special edition. It's lame. I opened my eyes to knipex and wera in like 2019 and I haven't looked back since. And I agree w matt.
