How to act around a green horse: scream, bring balloons, and pray to god it doesn't injure itself or you.

Reasons I think Annie should not have any horse:
    1. she has had 3 lessons.
    2. You may do it differently, but most people know you really should only hold the saddle with one inside hand when cantering.
    3. She can't feed a horse.
    4. She does not know how to tack up or groom or lunge.
    5. She is not an equestrian, everyone says she is because she loves horses but that does not make an equestrian.
    6. She can't see it enough to have a special bond.

horses need sooo much time and effort. i have my own lease but one day i got pneumonia but i was dedicated to my horse and i went down to take care of him, give him exercise etc. i was recovering at the time from it and if you've never had pneumonia before, it damages your lungs a lot and you shouldn't do exercise for at least 3 months. When i signed the lease I took up the responsibility to take care of my horse, and thats what i did. i was stupid to ride him cause i almost, ALMOST passed out XD but still... Horses first! even before health XDDDD

I completely agree with you. I watch bratayley and when I saw she got a horse let alone an unbroken horse I was completely outraged. I was super frustrated because I agree with you and she will lose interest. I also think that before you even start thinking about getting a horse you should definitely know all the basic things about horses. And I think she should be taking care of it not just leaving it to the trainer like bonding. At the rate she's going she should still just be having lessons. I was o angry when she got Luna because I have been riding for a long time and only know have I started looking for lease horses

The thing that made me laugh was that they bought the horse because of the colour of it. In one of the video's the father said something like " it's the paint (piebald/Pinto...) horse you liked". At this point I was so angry because the colour is the last thing in a horse you look for tbh if your favourite horse colour it's a bonus 😂

RaleighAndLink So happy somebody had the guts to give this girl some tough love and tell her it was a bad idea. She had such little experience that I don't think she should have leased a horse at that point in time but to buy a horse was way over there heads but to top of the icing on the cake it was a GREEN horse and GREEN rider that was a MARE! I mean seriously do your research lady! These people had no idea what they're getting into and I'm pretty sure by the time the horse IS broke she won't be in her "pony phase" anymore.

I completely agree 100% !! I too went through that "pony" phase but mine lasted 😂😂 So I did start saving up birthday money for around 3 years and my dad saw how determined I was to get a horse and we started looking at horses and then I got my beautiful mare ❤️ I had been riding for 7 years by then also just adding 😂 I missed opportunities to go into town with friends because I wanted to work with her and she's come on so much because of that and I don't regret it one bit!! I don't think it's fair that after 3 riding lessons and not even able to tack up or brush a horse, she should suddenly end up with a green unbroken mare . Not right. I mean I like bratayley, I'm just not sure about this ❤️❤️

  • @janethedges1845

I think this whole situation is messed up but some people in the comments need to stop going, "oh i have been riding for 10 years and i work so hard i don't get a horse." But thats not fair because everyone is different. I got my first horse after only 1 year of riding. That doesn't mean that the person who rode for 10 years deserves it more. You don't have to ride for an insane amount of time to be ready to have a horse. Now it also means you shouldn't be completely unknowledgeable. Its only been 2 years since I started riding but just recently I got a green horse. He is a green 17.2hh warmblood, yes he is a lot to handle, but I got him through my trainer who I trust. She has helped me and mom learn about green horses. I know I didn't have as much experience as some kids but I progressed very quickly, thanks to my trainers i am already jumping 3-3,3ft on my very spooky green horse. I handle him well and I ride him 5 days a week. That just proves that you dont have to ride for like 8 years before getting a horse. Stop acting like you deserve it more because you have been riding longer. Its not a competition of who has been riding the longest. Some people are saying you need TONS of knowledge to ride green horse which is partly true but it doesn't always take 10 years to be ready to ride one. If you are ready to get a horse it shouldn't matter how long you have been riding. Always consult a trainer before you buy a horse. You dont need rocket science to buy a horse.

Totally agree I've recently bought a 3 year old mare and I'm 13 , like Annie, but I've been riding since I was 6 and she is my first horse that's 100% mine in the past I've only leased horses and my parents don't have a clue about them. But at least I do, I understand and I'm not a green rider. Whereas a green horse and a green rider NOPE!! They've made a BIG mistake and that horse doesn't look very laid back.

I was riding 7 years before I got my first green horse, 7 years. In those 7 years I've helped train with trainers, volennteered at a horse rescue, lease a horse, had lessons every other day, Dotty was the first green horse I got personally and you know what, it still was a challenge. Every horse rider will tell you training a green horse will wear you down, mentally and physically, there are moments when you want to give up or you doubt your skill and why you chose to do it, you beat yourself up and you get hurt too, but at the end of the day it all was worth it, you continue to try because not only do you love the horse, you cherish the memories that come with training. At some point you're going to wish you never started a young horse, especially with the first one, but it's worth it knowing that this horse is the product of you, it's one of the most fulfilling feelings in the world. That said she only had 3 lessons, Annie can't
ride, she's still on a lunge line and they got her a 3 yr unbroke mare. She can get seriously hurt not to mention she can get out of that pony phase, her younger sister was smart getting a bunny, a animal she'll have time for

I completely agree with you. I grew up with horses have ridden for most of my life but currently don’t have my own horse. My 6 year old daughter has been having riding lessons for almost a year. She has chosen to give up gymnastics which she was doing with all of her friends so she could spend more time at our local stables. She chooses to go up a couple of days a week after school and helps muck out and brush the ponies. She started asking for a horse of her own and she has been told when she is old enough to go and taken care of it without my supervision she can have a horse of her own. So I guess that gives me around another 6 years of peace and of her riding at the riding school/ family’s horses x

I just got my horse a few months ago and she was my first horse that was full sized. But I have been riding for 7 years and I know tons of things. And my sister has two other horses and one is on vacations (from attitude but a big trainer is gonna get better trained) and my very very first pony is getting trained and she is very good. And all of my horses are mares and I was never into mares but my horse Ellie changed my mind but she is way different (she bucks/leaps a little if she goes to a big work day)

  • @shanyakollarova2622
    @shanyakollarova2622 7 ปีที่แล้ว

Talicia, your opinion is absolutelly great! I love how mature you are talking. You are awesome rider too. About that Brataley horse situation. For me, I've started to have a leased horse after 2 years of riding, I had her for about a year. After 4 years of active riding, my parents decided, that I can have my own horse. But we searched for the perfect horse, that will fit for me, for about 1 year. Yes, it takes THAT much time, to find a good horse for you. Then we finally found a 13 years old, Warmblood gelding. I absolutelly love him and I think, that the searching was worth it.
So for all of you, who are considering buying a horse, make sure, you have enough experience and time to own a horse. And remember, there's no need to hurry. The perfect horse for you exists, you just need to find him/her. :)

As a young child, I wasn't that interested in horse riding, but when I was 12 i heard my friend was riding so I decided to ride. I'm now 16 and I still love riding. I don't have my own horse but I help a different friend with her horse. It's good to start riding when you're a bit older because you understand more 😊 ofc if you start when you're younger you probably do understand too

Okay so no one attack me but this is my story, I was about 7 when I got my first little pony Kia. I absolutely adored her. She was my first horse and she was a been there done that kinda pony, the previous owner told us she had been to children hospital and made many little kids happy. My sister soon after got a horse and we learnt together how to ride. My father taught us both how to ride, he was the reason we rode. About 3 years later my parents than broke up and everything changed. My hole perspective on riding, I had out grown my pony and had no one to help me ride so I stopped riding, my horse was going to waste (don't worry I still spent time with her she just didn't get ridden). After a year or so we sold our farm and had to part ways with our horses. We gave both of them to a close friend who had a lot of experience with horses and so we are still able to visit them. Although I never stopped loving my gorgeous pony, she is now back in work and has 2 very cute little girls who adore her as much as I did. It's now a few years later and I regret all the decisions I made when I was younger, my dad is buying another property and we are going to get back into riding. Thank you to anyone who actually finished this xx leave me a comment about your story!

I agree with this video. Also, horses are not pets. They are companions, your other half. Annie has no idea what she is doing. She is going to fall off that mare and never want to get back on. We equestrians know that the brataylee channel's decision with the green order and green horse pair is going to blow up in their face. So let's watch it happen. After 3 lessons you don't deserve a horse. Heck she can't even feed the horse a carrot correctly let alone have time to take care of it 24/7

all of these points are true, i agree! i'm 13 and have been leasing for almost a year, i'm learning to canter now and i'll keep leasing until i'm at least 16-18, that's when i'll buy my own horse, but i'll buy a fully trained one! i'll admit, i'm not very confident yet, but I hope this changes, i wanna become confident! i think i'm doing good so far, though i'm struggling with cantering :/ i fell of the first time i tried :c but i didn't hurt myself, it was kinda like a unplanned dismount! so no harm done! and my pony, Joey, seemed to be okay! and it's 2 months after that incident and he has ringworm ;-; i hope he gets better soon

I have been riding for who knows how long and I still haven't got a horse. No hate… I have been wanting a horse for ages but now I have realised how much time and effort it takes to own a horse which Annie (etc) are not giving this horse. Three lessons and you get a horse?! Some people have had HOW many lessons and are stressing out because of how much they want a horse. I feel bad for the people that don't have as many opportunities as Annie ~including me~ and that makes some people feel insecure. Absolutely NO hate to Bratayley 🤝! I hope all those horse lovers out there keep wishing 🙏 and keep all of that faith ✌️ but just don't pressure parents/carers to get you a horse as there could be multiple reasons you have not (yet) got a horse. I don't necessarily agree with her getting a horse, but I do know she has had a very rough past few years and I know the love you can feel for a horse can make you light up. I think if they absolutely wanted her to have a horse, they should have started with a temporary lease on an experienced horse but she does have what looks to be a knowledgeable trainer by their side to assist. I think people need to leave it alone, she and the pony will be just fine.

I agree, I have been riding for almost 6 years and my parents are just beginning to consider letting me do a half-lease, which would mean riding that leasehorse once a week with a trainer doing jumping, and twice a week doing flatwork by myself. They have also been letting me have more lessons, and I am going to start doing more shows. Had they at least gotten an older, completely broke horse I think many people would be less angry. If the horse had been broken, she could've had lessons with it and bond with it more, which is one of the great things about owning a horse.

And Luna has since been sold, which may be beneficial for everyone involved. I was 11 when I got my first horses, and honestly I had only ridden a few times before that because there are literally no good coaches around. However, I had wanted horses since I was 5 and was with them every single chance I got. Unlike Annie who appears to have thought one day “oh, riding sounds like a fun sport, I’ll try that”. And now that I’m midway through my teenage years, my horses are still my priority.
I don’t feel like it’s a requirement that everyone have lessons before getting a horse, by it depends on the situation. For me. My parents had owned horses many times before, so my family was prepared for the challenges of horse ownership.
I’m just happy that everyone stayed safe until they sold Luna.

My parents have brought the idea up but I've brushed it past them knowing I should wait. That's how you know your ready for a Horse. I definitely agree. I don't know much about horses, and I haven't taken riding lessons, but I get why people are a bit angry about this. I got a unbroken in horse for my 10th birthday and I have been riding ever since I was 6 years old and it only took Me and My dad 4 Weekends to break her in. We started training her when she was 6 (In February) and Now she is 7 years old and her old owner taught her a lot of stuff and she is very obedient and Well trained, When we bought her The owner said that She has never had a saddle on her because He had a back injury and he couldn't ride so When we started training her it only took us 4 weekends to break her in with a Western saddle and Me and my dad both rode her and The first time i rode her I rode bareback on her since she didn't mind having a saddle on and my trainer said it was ok to ride her bareback. She only bucked once throughout the whole entire training and she only bucked when we were lunging her and when we rode her she didn't buck at all.

I've been attacked by commenters on their video all week because I "don't know what I am talking about". You can have fast horses for fast riders, slow horses for slow riders, but NOT green horses for green riders! I honestly have no idea why they thought that this would be a good idea, it's insane and dangerous for both horse and rider. And riding is one thing, but knowledge is a big part of working with a young horse. I've been working with my first green horse for 9 months now after 5 years of riding and studying horse books and such and I underestimated it. It's so much harder than I thought and the amount of time you require is insane, I go at least 3 times a week which is actually not enough. And patience, oh my gosh. I am not a patient person, but my horse forced me to be patient. They made a huge mistake and I am really really worried for both Annie and Luna

I really like how you actually said this. Loads of people who have reacted to this video have been really harsh to the bratayley family and some even said some death threats to the bratayley family and pets. I actually like Annie, Hayley, Billy, Katie and Caleb- the family. So when they got Luna, I was so happy and thought she was going to take AMAZING care of Luna.
Clearly the fans were wrong. She has only been to the stables 1 time after she got Luna. She has had her for about 2 months and has only visited her ONCE!! She has only ridden ONCE after she got Luna!!
How is she going to look after a mare- probably one that's going to be moody as she's not spending enough time with Luna?! She has been to gymnastics comps and she has literally missed more than 3 competitions and she's just started the season! If she has missed 3+ competitions, how the HECK is she supposed to look after a horse??
Absolutely agree with everything you have said. She doesn't even know how to feed a horse a carrot 😹🙄😴💖

I love how you approach things so calmly. Xx Instead of attacking her like so many others you are mature. Personally I think it's such a bad idea❤️ If they are going to get a horse then they should get a schoolmaster instead of a green unbroken mare. I got my horse when I was ten.
