    Lake Tahoe I learned when I was there for 4 days this July, that there is an Alpine Lake bigger in British Columbia. That was according to AI when we did the boat ride withe paddles.

    Ive been going to the lake Tahoe for the past 45 yrs. Each time I go it feels like the first time !! Where else can you combine the Caribbean Hawaii and Vegas. Nothing like clean Alpine freshwater. Fun video!

      We totally agree! This was our first time there, but we cannot wait to see this refreshing beauty once again soon. Since you've explored it several times, we'd love to know your recommendations for any unique spots or experiences worth trying next time! 😊

    You fuys did a great job covering lake thaoe. One thing i would add is to make sure to do the gondola ride in heavenly village for beautiful views of the lake and some fun and easy hiking

      @@peoplegetready1021 My husband, their dad, passed away in summer 2021, and the boys weren't yet ready for a vacation in 2022. It wasn't about Lake Tahoe, but about their grief. They barely left our condo. This summer, they did a little better with our short trip to Hot Springs, Arkansas. We just hung at the lake and went kayaking. Another small step in our grief journey.

      I came to comment the same thing! Save the money and stay in Carson City which is like 15-20 mins down the hill. It's a super cute town, has the Govenors Mansion, Mark Twain tour, the museum is outstanding, and you're only 20 mins from Reno as well. Virginia City is a great place to visit as well!

    This is one of the best videos on visiting Lake Tahoe. We're planning to go in two weeks, any tips on lodging? North or south part of the lake, which hotel/airbnb would you recommend?

    • @MadOverExploring
      @MadOverExploring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Reading that makes our day! Thank you. Since our trip was part of a longer road trip, we stayed in Carson City the night before at an Airbnb. We did not have a pleasant experience with our 2nd Airbnb near the south lake so skipped including that. I would recommend to find a place in the north. Chances are stays there would be generally cheaper and more available compared to the busy south.

    • @ashmsport1562
      @ashmsport1562 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MadOverExploring I've booked an Airbnb on the South side of the lake already. It had great reviews and it's secluded from the busy area. Hopefully it'll be good. Thanks for the suggestion :)

    I wouldn’t say the water by the shore is cold especially in the summer it’s refreshing but if you’re going to spend a long time on the lake it’s smart to wear a wetsuit just to be sure 2-3 mm all you need I wear long John wersuit not covering arms

    how are the roads ? are they narrow ? winding? steep? guarded?

    • @MadOverExploring
      @MadOverExploring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello! Most of the loop around the lake is formed by Highways 28, 50, and 89. All of them are well-marked, and we didn't have any issues driving. The only windy parts we remember distinctly are near the Emerald Bay State Park, but nothing super-sketchy. Drive at the speed limit, enjoy the views, and you'll be fine! 😃

      Heavenly Valley aka Olympic is where the 1960's Olympics were held. It's the largest Alpine lake in North America, one of the purest lakes in the world, has the best drinking water, spectacular hiking trails, world class ski resorts, and has so much water it could cover the entire state of California with 14 inches of standing water.
