13:26 I love how you mentioned Lana del Rey knowing that Abel and Lana had actually been supporting each other since the very beginning of both of their careers.
I religiously listen to The Weeknd, all his albums. All the time. I just love how much he has evolved. The part where he said he needs confidence in himself and look at him now. I’m so proud.
I'm still obsessed with "The Knowing" 10 years later after I first heard it lol. I can't believe how great it is and I have my own interpretations on the meaning. Definitely my favorite Weeknd song ever
When you said High For This talks to the listener you got me punching the air. That is exactly what's happening there. So glad there are people like you who can grasp the double entendres at first listen. Kudos girl
I know “twenty eight” wasn’t included in the original house of balloons tape but it was released later on. Each tape has an additional song to them. House of balloons has “twenty eight”, Thursday has “Valerie” , and echoes of silence has “til dawn (here comes the sun)” I would love for you to check those out any way you can and see your reaction. Great video!!!! I’m reliving this experience through them!
1:04 - High for This 4:54 - What you need 7:28 - HoB / Glass Table Girls 13:45 - The Morning 17:21 - Wicked Games 21:18 - The Party & The After Party 26:50 - Coming Down 30:41 - Loft Music 33:49 - The Knowing
Made me sad that Coming Down was your least favorite track. It's such a grower. Such a fantastic, atmospheric song. One of his most underrated songs imo
The origanl mix tapes and even going into kissland , Able brings out such dark tones and an addictive sound that truly grips you and never let go. I love seeing people explore deeper into the meanings of the song!
Every now and then when the sky goes dark I like to change my mood and listen to the weekend. His music itself creates a night love type of vibe in my space.
it depends on the mix. for hob i'd go like this High for This: Trilogy What you Need: Original HOB/GTG: leaning towards trilogy The Morning: Original Wicked Games: Trilogy TP&TAP: they're mostly the same, but the original sounds a bit more raw Coming Down: Original Loft Music: Trilogy The Knowing: doesn't matter which
For me it's a 10 and his best album. I rarely give albums a 10 seeing as it's going in the same bracket of enjoyment as Songs in the key of life, Abbey Road What's Going On etc. This for me is a modern classic and created a whole genre. The influence of this one album is insane.
To this day The Knowing is my favorite song of his. It is the perfect first glimpse into the insecurity and fragility underneath all the macho-ness. Feels like a prelude to Tears in the Rain
1:04 high for this 4:55 what you need 7:29 house of balloons 13:46 the morning 17:21 wicked games 21:19 the party and the after party 26:51 coming down 😫 30:41 loft music 33:49 the knowing 🥲 XO ❤
That clip when The Weeknd says “You don’t know what’s in store but I know where you’re here for” with Joey stylez is one of my favorite clips fr 😭 It’s just crazy he said Joey was gonna blow up but little did Abel know it was gonna be him
coming down is easily my favorite now because it just gets more addicting every time, it’s insane it really begins to make you crave it and experience the come down
thank you so much for posting this - as a devoted Weeknd fan, I loveeeee seeing people's reactions for the first time to his music. Your commentary and takes are exactly my thoughts as well! Thanks again for giving this mixtape a try 😊
Wicked Games has that same vibe that only a few very special songs have, including Call Out My Name. Those songs are to cry for. Every single fucking time.
Ayyyy she is back! Nice reaction also don’t stop reacting to the lyrics it’s a very important part of the reaction especially for songs as deep as the ones from Trilogy! Keep up the good work!
Probably my favorite mixtape/album of all time. Really enjoyed this video and your commentary! I enjoy watching people on TH-cam listen to Trilogy for the first time. It never gets old, seems like it's become a whole subgenre of reaction/listen-along videos.
when this first dropped it was unreal. nobody knew who he was or what he looked like. there was 0 marketing and he 100% blew up based on word of mouth alone. it was just dropped on the internet and ppl made their way to it. he actually had a retail clerk job and would go into work hearing ppl talk abt his music but nobody knew it was him. also u made the right call listening to the originals version! the trilogy version has an extra 10th track for each mixtape and theyre all actually really good imo so if u feel like making a video on that after u finish thursday and EOS i’m here for it
Be sure to play the bonus track for each tape! People have had first listen’s and do them separately from the project or just include them like they’re the closers
Your music knowledge is amazing! I have been listening to his albums since 2011. The Knowing is one of my favs and i dont know about the Cherry-coloured Funk sample. So Thank You. Amazing! btw one of his song is called Heaven Or Las Vegas.
So glad you liked HoB. It’s my favorite project of any artist I’ve listened. It takes you to a place that is so indescribable and darkly beautiful. Also you’re really pretty, keep up the great content!
yall dont make her listen to the original versions only especially for the rest of trilogy. one main reason is because she missed TWENTY EIGHT from this section of the trilogy.,...
I really enjoy your overall assessment, delivery and attention to details: “if I’m looking down, it’s because I’m reading lyrics” reading lyrics is a lost art with music reactions, among many other nuanced things you are doing! Subscribed.. for now! 😎😂😂
This song has given me so many memories. Good and bad. Thats what i think about his music is that it makes you feel different almost every other listen. Such a great artist to put symbolic narratives in his albums.
I really appreciate how your reactions/reviews are being said while the songs are playing, and not pausing the songs every single time. Found it really great to listen to 😄
I geeked hard out on this album when it fist dropped because of how the music perfectly matches the themes in the songs and the whole album kinda has a story line it follows. idk if it was all intentional or not but you can read pretty deep into this one. you nailed it
“WTF? Why isn’t this guy a massive star?” Exactly! I downloaded this mixtape before any of my friends knew of him, and they all looked at me like they were listening to an alien language when I played it for them. I didn’t get why he didn’t immediately explode, but darkness doesn’t speak to everyone.
Coming Down is so great... still listen to that track daily. I love that you got lost in The Morning, that is what made him so great right from the get go.
some classics like twenty eight and valerie will be missed out if you listen to the original version of the albums. And trust me, you wouldn’t wanna miss those songs
seeing her videos and looking at her ig, shes like two diff persons hahaha, she looks so focus and serious reacting to the songs, so interesting, love it
13:26 I love how you mentioned Lana del Rey knowing that Abel and Lana had actually been supporting each other since the very beginning of both of their careers.
The Album that changed R&B Forever in modern music.
I religiously listen to The Weeknd, all his albums. All the time. I just love how much he has evolved. The part where he said he needs confidence in himself and look at him now. I’m so proud.
And I hope you still listen
Look at him now making songs like Less Than Zero

I'm still obsessed with "The Knowing" 10 years later after I first heard it lol. I can't believe how great it is and I have my own interpretations on the meaning. Definitely my favorite Weeknd song ever
Might as well share them

It's obviously about his then girl cheating on him with Drake

I started clapping towards the screen as soon as she said that
He used to throw parties in his house and the only decorations were some cheap balloons, hence the title.
This is a happy house 🏡🎈
yo the queen is back
lol i thought this said black
The knowing almost made me cry the first time listening to it 💀
Masterpiece of a song
It is a fantastic song, and he's the king of both intro songs and outro songs imo
It’s ok to cry to it bro trust
its ok, I swear its okay..

Twenty eight is one of my favourites. Soo good
Valerie is such a mood
It’s startling to think he was only 20 when carving out this masterpiece
22:35 I love how fast she caught the samples. The party and the after party is how I got into beach house🤌🏼

One of the most influential albums/mixtapes/EP’s/releases of our time period.
Every now and then when the sky goes dark I like to change my mood and listen to the weekend. His music itself creates a night love type of vibe in my space.

Definitely the correct choice in listening to the original mixes, but don't miss the bonus song in each mixtape on Trilogy
Is there much of a difference between original and trilogy mixes? Ive never compared them
@@-ameera-9103 just a little bit but nothing major
