Maanyung [ www.youtube.com/@michaellauri... ] explains that 'Aagal', meaning ocean /waves, is a story about his totem and it’s power. The song is written in Yaygiir language of the Yagel country in which he is part of.
"When we connect with the ocean and waves it enters us on a cellular and spiritual way. This makes us feel fulfilled in many ways. My old people have stories of the ocean and waves that span since the dawn of time. We wanted to keep main traditional elements of song structure, space and of course Language. Working with @nickbampton.music was all time. Nick is a so talented and was a true sense of a collaboration on this project."

'Slow Lane' is a surf film that follows big wave surfer Laurie Towner and his family as they travel on a dream road trip exploring the vast Australian coastline in search of waves, good fishing and adventures.
This film produced by needessentials and edited by Ishka Folkwell not only showcases Laurie Towner's surfing but also gives you an in-depth understanding of Laurie as a surfer and father. The film explores the concept of passing on knowledge to the next generation through shared experiences and good times spent together as a family.
Cinematographer Nathan Henshaw's beautiful images capture the stunning landscape of the Australian continent and its wide variety of waves and wildlife as the family make their way from coast to coast. With an original soundtrack featuring Headland, Nick Bampton and Maanyung and additional music by Mick Turner and Musgrave Band, this film is a portrait of a young family on a simple adventure.

How long will Brazilian surfers be ripped off at the WSL? It has always been like this, the judges of the world championships in the history of surfing have always given preference to gringo and aussie surfers and I think that will never change (for obvio$ reason$)... I think that the only solution for curing this corrupt cancer would be the creation of a new league (where there are impartial and transparent judgments and where radical maneuvers and innovations are truly valued) or Brazilian surfers leaving the WSL migrating to the ISA. And on the Saquarema stage we have to organize a strong protest against the World Shame League! OBS - A self-respecting brand does not associate with a corrupt league! I hope the brands that sponsor the World Stolen League wake up and get away from this mafia! (And Mr. Kelly Slater, who has a great name to uphold...will you remain silent and go along with all this filth?...UNFORTUNATE!)
