In my opinion, the best NEW anime this season, I am even finding it more enjoyable to watch than the continuing animes this season.
It gets better and better. Latest episode 10 was a banger.

Attack on titan vibes
It's a small detail, but I really appreciate how EVERYONE in the new class of recruits is being acknowledged as insanely talented. Adds a level of credibility to their future growth so it doesn't seem like they're getting upgrades out of thin air.
Not only are they extremely talented, they're also extremely accepting. They all come from different backgrounds, but everyone seems to accept Kafka as one of them - despite them knowing his exam results. The other new officers trust both in Kafka having potential, and in the high rank officers who made the decision to accept him. Normally it would be a classic shonen cliche for our group to ostracize the MC for being an outlier and this is just a breath of fresh air.

Honestly with Mina handle the powerful machinery, Hoshino's sword skills, Shinomiya being a beast herself and Kafka's 9.8 fortitude Kaiju form... they're such a powerful Quadri.
I liked seeing everyone's specific type of roles in this mission, this world is built to defend against Kaiju.

Captain is a sniper while vice captain is melee, two minmaxers that balance each other out.
It's so cool! I love that combination it's really smart.

The way Shinomiya's face lit up was cute. Hoshina is right Kafka is hilarious and the bathhouse scene was soo funny 😂😂 You will love Hoshina too

Before the series started airing I thought the hook for me was going to be the kaiju, but that was not the case. You quickly realize that the best parts of the show would be the character building and bonds. The monster fights are awesome but you still see character growth during the fights so you are constantly learning more about the characters and loving them more. The story pace is very satisfying, only 6 episodes in and we are already very much invested into the characters.

so the vice captains family has been kaiju hunting for 500 to 700 years

actuallly you saw a mc like that and you admire him. its bacially spinoff naruto or most of the shounen chars lol but naruto is almost identical. a beast inside he must control or keep secret, everyone ridicules him at start and he rivals with the op char, he barely made it to corps or graduate, he talks no jutsu + walk the walk when it matter with his actions, his teammates starts to admire him the more they spend time with him and he is the goofball that motivates and brings out the best of everyone.
