yeah the fact that he doesn't have his dot mounted on the upper receiver itself for reliability is sus.
@@dakotaclement7751 doesn't really matter if his red dot in on the barrel since it's cqb. Besides, if it's a DD or a BCM, they're handguards are pretty sturdy so I wouldn't be worried losing your zero
@Alexis Osuna I understand that. But with a handguard mount there is always room for error. I just wouldn't risk it. Especially since it doesn't negatively affect you to attach it to the receiver

Probably used to an AK pattern; for many, that's the most reliable place to mount an optic if you want to maintain zero.
As someone teaching a CQB course he probably often chokes up further on the gun and doesnt need the accuracy of having a bigger sight picture.
If only my siege teammates knew about this one

Its obvious he has space for a 3x flip on his upper. Throwing up your elbow is a pretty common cqb move to have a fulcrum on walls and buddies. But you wont learn that from your terminal ssgt.

💯 I have a friend who was a US army ranger and they train cqb a lot and said that they do everything they can to avoid CQB but if it has to be done they go in ready to be shot and be shot bad, that's why they train a lot of CQB

He's a buff operator... you're (admittedly) a fat civilian. I don't even need to explain why your opinion is invalid. Though, you're not entirely wrong. A red dot SHOULD be mounted as far forward on the RECEIVER as possible without reaching the handguard, but there are exceptions.
