I'm already a Daughter fan, so when I spotted this on Altered Carbon, I got crazy, cause I fuckin' love this band and now I'm loving so much more the series
I was listening to “Youth” when I was 14 years old. Daughters voice sunk into my soul , and I remembered her forever . Now , a decade later , some sort of brilliant TV show , unlike all those that never caught my attention ... brings some pulse back into this depressed life of mine. Her voice is angelic , the lyrics speak to me on a deep emotional level . Is it a wonder that we find things at the perfect times ? This song urges me to want to move the mountains I stare at every day . But .... I’m too busy moping around .

Fast-forward nearly three years later, Life is Strange: Before the Storm came out and I was ecstatic to find that Daughter was doing the soundtrack for it. As soon as I saw the trailer and heard “Numbers”, I knew that I’d found a new favorite artist to listen to. I have every song from Music From Before the Storm, four songs from Not to Disappear (New Ways, Numbers, No Care, and How, and I’m adding this song as well), two from If You Leave (Smother and Youth), and Run and Medicine from different albums. Elena’s voice is hauntingly beautiful in each song, and the music of each song is amazing. If only there were more official instrumentals than just the one for No Care, I would be so happy if someone found the instrumental for Youth.
Altered Carbon is such a feeling for me. The atmosphere, neon lightning, rain, dark, cold, and wonderful music... 😭😭 its real art. And you Daughter, you made me love in the series in the first episode.

I posted on the VEVO page, but wasn't sure if that's an official Daughter channel or not. I just wanted to say that I wouldn't have come across this fantastic band had it not been for a game that I had shelved for two years, then decided to play the prequel when it came out and shelved that too for a few months. It wasn't until I picked it back up again and was so into this band that I had to look them up! This stuff I still really enjoy, but it is a bit TOO reminiscent of early Bjork (which I absolutely love) but I'm glad Daughter came into her own and I have now added it into my collection of regular listening. Thank you for your hard work.
