To me, a sleeper can either be completely stock or a ratty looking beater. In this case, the miswatch colors match the description for me. Especially since I wasn’t expecting the super charger. But it’s a subjective term so feel free to disagree
I have a 97 single cab short bed totally off roader. It's awesome. I can't take her anywhere without somebody offering to buy it off me on the spot. It's an awesome truck.
They did come with v6 in the single cab non prerunner. I worked and drove one at my shop. It was a manual and would easily light up the tires. It must of weighed 2800 pounds
Yo I did something similar but kept mine ultra stock. Purchased a 96 Tacoma 4X4 w Ext cab and manual transmission. Bought for $5k w 145k miles. It was also a work truck that needed a lot of TLC. Long story short, refreshed all the defered maintenance and got is rhino lined and fully repainted. Truck looks amazing! The final touch will be the supercharger!!
awesome little truck. It's cool seeing a long travel ifs taco more geared towards crawling. still trying to decide if i want to do long travel ifs or SAS with my 3.4 supercharged taco. also, toyota did actually sell short cab 4x4 tacos with 3.4's from the factory from 95-97. some even had factory superchargers. love the 95-97 grille and headlight style, almost makes me want to convert the grill on my '01 to the older style lol
@@oldwestarmory he has no header and said nothing about computer / tuning, and its not a new motor 220-230 at the crank max you need your duckys in a row to make over 250 with a 3.4, not a used motor with a used sc bolted to it
Yep it's over I missed the Tacoma too. Maybe i can throw one back together someday. It's getting very very difficult to find any sort of used vehicle, there's always some massive insane new wild incredible build so satisfying to look at, it's getting pretty expensive to find a basket case to put together for a cheap truck. I wonder how soon the "mud on freshly waxed paint" Toyota crowd will kill the Tacoma and 4Runner after butchering the Land Cruiser.
@tacomabeast 1986 toyota pu factory turbo 4wd but all upgraded turbro, ms2 and everything. Currently having Jim at 22re performance building an all forge internal turbo engine for it! Hoping for 220hp on 91@14psi, and maybe 280+ on e85 @20+psi. Already JD Fab LT. Just gotta buy rear bypasses (king's) only! so I can start my sua deaver f67 setup. This will be a build great for your channel too lol. I've been following you for years!
Loved this platform of small truck. Why are trucks like this no longer made? We all bitch about high truck prices. A small truck with a single cab & 6' bed would have to be cheaper to make and cheaper for us to buy. Almost all new movies are remakes or regurgitated ideas from the past. Why not do it with trucks?
98-04 only 4 cylinder 96-97 had the 3.4 option but the 96 3.4 could not support the trd supercharger and did not have the supercharger option until 97 when the supercharger option became available
“When you bought this truck did it look like this? Nothing!” Yeah that’s not a sleeper then lmao… a sleeper is literally making only performance upgrades and leaving the stock body aerodynamic
This truck reminds me of how ugly the new Toyota trucks are with their high beds and flat grills. So ugly. they should go back in time on the design in small ways.
Dang, that truck got a new lease on life! Looks awesome.
Coolest truck I’ve seen on this channel
Glad you like it!
These kinds of walkarounds are sick! Keep them coming please!
How is it a sleeper??? It looks nothing close to stock.. sleepers are stock looking vehicle
To me, a sleeper can either be completely stock or a ratty looking beater. In this case, the miswatch colors match the description for me. Especially since I wasn’t expecting the super charger.
But it’s a subjective term so feel free to disagree
Ya the boosted boiz ratty minivan body over Plaid swap is a definition sleeper- this thing looks built at first glance! Bad ass, but no sleeper
Because Toyotas are slow as shit
looks slow like a dog but suprises you when it pulls away with power that is a sleeper doesnt look like what it is like a wolf in sheeps clothing
What else do you expect from Matteo.
Rad ride. So much power the frame flexes during the burnouts. Look at the space between the cab and the bed.
They don't make them like that anymore. Short wheel base, 6' bed, got to say I miss these old trucks.
2nd Gen was the last time TMC offered a regular cab, still not even close to the old Toyota PU.
I have a 97 single cab short bed totally off roader. It's awesome. I can't take her anywhere without somebody offering to buy it off me on the spot. It's an awesome truck.
Love this, really is the working man’s build nothing to over the top but still epic
boy that tiny truck rips. Supercharged and angry. Very nice!
Oh yeah!
That does have the cool factor for sure
TRU is a great shop. I took my 80 there for a full inspection before purchashing it. They were very thorough.
That truck can move!!!
I love it man it's a beautiful truck it absolutely rips ❤️😛🤙😎

THE BEAST!!!!!
That thing is amazing! Bravo 🙌🏼
What an awesome build!

Love this cute truck
Such a beautiful truck!

Lovin' the custom gray, to green, to white primer fade. LoL 😂 I want a truck EXACTLY like this!
Wow this is sick
Awesome build for sure.
Nice looking truck!

Nice rig!!!
I love my Tacoma too
awesome little truck. It's cool seeing a long travel ifs taco more geared towards crawling. still trying to decide if i want to do long travel ifs or SAS with my 3.4 supercharged taco.

Great work. ❤this truck
Thank you! 👍
Sick AF
Badass!
Came to party 🤘🤘🤘
Respeck from Poland 🇵🇱💪💪💪🫶
I think 3.4l is around 190 stock. With supercharger maybe around 230?
The Magnuson TVS1320 Toyota 3.4L V6 Supercharger System can add 262 horsepower and 263 ft-lbs of torque at the crank
@@oldwestarmory he has no header and said nothing about computer / tuning, and its not a new motor 220-230 at the crank max you need your duckys in a row to make over 250 with a 3.4, not a used motor with a used sc bolted to it
I wish I could buy this kind of truck.
Nice!
Where can we see it on a trail video?
You can follow his Instagram!
This is no sleeper.
But OOOO BOY ITS SOOOO SICK!!!!

Do more 2nd gen’s
BadAss!!!!🫡🥃
Dope ⚡⚡
i have stock 98 Tacoma I'm looking to build as a daily driver/part time overlander, any suggestions on wheels and suspension set up
Eibach makes a good set, for tired we usually go with bfgoodrich
Did you have to get it tuned when the supercharger was installed?
Where can I get the tool box from ?
477k ! mines at 133k - thats insane
lmao 200hp with a super charged v6 NUTS BRO
🔥🔥👌
Sweet
When Toyotas are tricked out they have their own mojo.
What headlights are those
When i finish mines, you can come shoot a video of mines!
👀👀

OOOOF
The important part is at 3:58 your welcome.
Epic
Anyone know where to get those headlights at?
What kind of grille is that?
How should I contact you regarding sponsorship?
We have a sponsorship application on our website!
What's wrong with a ladder rack?
Farthest thing from sleeper
Nice
I don't think y'all know what "sleeper" means, but sick build.
He couldn’t wait to rip it. 😎
Just fyi some of the came with a 3.4. Mine came like that from factory
My goodness that sound nothing less than music to me.
Sleeper? How?
Truck is sick but that’s not long travel
💪💪
A sleeper is a stock looking vehicle with insane HP and torque.
Does this not look stock?
@@tacomabeastno it does not.

EPA requirements and the gov

wrong, 95.5-2004 you could get a 4 banger. 95.5-97 you could get the 3.4 in a reg cab but only in 4x4 manual.
“When you bought this truck did it look like this? Nothing!” Yeah that’s not a sleeper then lmao… a sleeper is literally making only performance upgrades and leaving the stock body aerodynamic
What? 😂
fr tho that's gotta be like 400 at the wheels
That’s such a Sexy Crawler
That's a sick truck but to call it a sleeper is like calling a street walker classy.
"Sleeper"? Looks like it's been awake for 3 weeks straight on a meth binge.
If you put a ladder rack on it and learn plumbing, you might learn to make some real money 💰
This might come as a shock to you but there are other ways to make money with your taco aside from plumbing 😅
I mean its a sweet truck, but definately not a "sleeper" haha
Dude like around 200hp?? Haha! Probably has more like 350 -375 to break those fatty tires loose like that!
Nah small trucks are kight in the rear and he re geared
That’s not a sleeper. It’s just a beat ass old Taco with a few basic mods lol.
Anyone who says taco should be kicked in the balls
definitely not A sleeper you can clearly see that its been modified
go kart tacoma
Beautiful truck but wouldn’t call that a sleeper
This truck is amazing, but it isn't a sleeper.
not a sleeper but okay
It’s amazing what filters and music will do. If I see that thing parked in a parking lot I’d say “that thing a pos”
😂
Waited the whole video to hear the engine and you decide to put music over it?! No one cares about the copyright music, we trynna hear that shi
Sick truck but not a sleeper
I fail to see a sleeper at all.
Nice Taco, but that’s no sleeper dude.
Not a sleeper. Very obviously a built truck
at no point is this a sleeper build
lol nothing close to a sleeper
Quit lying! There's nothing sleeper about this truck. 🙄
This truck reminds me of how ugly the new Toyota trucks are with their high beds and flat grills. So ugly. they should go back in time on the design in small ways.
Sleeper, lol....click bait!
Tacoma beast knows nothing about trucks
What makes you say that?
