How to clean fresh kale

Clean and sanitize your sink or whatever cleaning receptacle you'll use.

Rinse well.

Fill sink/receptacle with cold water, ice, and lots of baking soda.

Add fresh kale. Soak in baking soda water about 30 minutes. Periodically wash your hands and swish kale around and flip it to ensure all parts get soaked.

Inspect all leaves for bugs and dirt. Lightly scrub with vegetable brush if any dirt or bugs remain stuck to leaves.

Tear leaves from stems, discard stems, rinse and dry leaves, then prepare your kale as desired.
