Ommen - a former trading city with a passion for crafts, art and cooking

Ommen used to be a real trading city, once affiliated with the Hanseatic League via Deventer. Of course it also had an annual fair, even one of the largest annual fairs in Overijssel, the Ommer Bissingh. The fair is now a tourist attraction, but what has remained in the city is the passion. From retired carpenters who build a Vechtzomp to a restaurant owner born in Suriname who attracts customers from all over the region to Ommen.
