    How to buy a bed:
    1. Go to store.
    2. Close your eyes, and try it.
    3. Dont read about it, but notice price.
    4. write down price and how you like it.
    Next step:
    1. Go to another store.
    2. Close your eyes, and try it.
    3. Dont read about it, but notice price.
    4. write down price and how you like it.
    Repeat 5 more times.
    Last step:
    Compare. Buy the one you like the most within your budget. Remember you will sleep on it 10-15 + years if you buy a good one.

    I don't know if purple buys out reviews but I mean toward purchasing it because their the only ones selling something with different technology. All the others say their memory foam is better. But at the end of the day it's just memory foam. Purple is the only one with an advanced new technology/material. I just wish it wasn't so expensive

    • @BlueKinTsukiko
      @BlueKinTsukiko 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Actually research tempur pedic. They're the original memory foam mattress company for a reason and their technology is way better then purple's plus their mattresses are known for easily lasting over 15 years. I know cause we were selling models that were prototypes from right before they went public in 2003. They were also originally developed for NASA's use and the main thing is that no their foam is nothing like anyone elses because it was never told what was used to make it. Tempur's foam holds no patent or anything cause it would be disclosed what made the beds.
      However the foam is known for being the densest in the world meaning it will last much longer then any other memory foam mattress. If it's not a tempur pedic it's not worth the high price tbh.
      Also Adam mentioned how theres two manufacturers and they use the same stuff is false. Tempur pedic bought out Sealy and merged yes but they still only use tempur pedic foam for only tempur pedic mattresses not Sealy whatsoever.

One of my clients does research for a living, and mattress shopping even confused her. Absolutely true that they make different types for each distributer so you cant compare prices. Its insane. Next time your at a mattress store, ask about 2 sided (Flippable) mattresses and see what the sales rep says. most of the time they say its illegal to sell 2 sided mattresses, but that is a lie.

    You want to know how to buy a mattress? Ok. Look up foam supply store on google. Don't buy a "mattress" buy a 3x7ft slab of memory/poly foam straight from the supplier. Honestly, since Casper and the cartels have gotten on the scene, foam suppliers have dried up a bit, but it's still so much cheaper if you can find one.

      Honestly, the best beds I’ve ever had were those super cheap ones you get from the mom and pop shops where the mattress and frames altogether come to like £120.
      Hell, on bed frame/mattress combo I had was £70 for the full thing

    I’m one of those people that could and have slept on the floor because I like something super firm. Had to buy a new mattress for a new bed. Dad says pick anything look at all these things in the one. I’m like ya no to much for me I want it cheap and hard. I pick out the perfect one it’s like 150 and hard as a rock. Sales person goes off on how if I want a firm one she has a better one for me. It’s like $500. Dad says perfect (he’s paying) I say hell no I want the cheap one. Over an hour later sales lady and dad trying to convince me that the more expensive one will be better for me. In the end I leave with my cheap and hard mattress happy as could be.

    Actually, there is something you can do. Just don't buy a mattress! You can just put outdoor patio cushions on a table and sleep on that. I use 3 cushions from Goodwill - the total was around $6 - and a strong folding table from Walmart - around $20. A complete bed setup for $26! It doesn't feel much different than sleeping on the full box spring and mattress combo.

    Then there's us who can't buy new and get second hand ones. My bed is second hand framed matress with a second hand cover matress. I mean. Best way to find beds and parts of that is to just check second hand stores, sales at the physical shops and if the recycling centre stores matresses inside, go there. In many cases all you need to do is to use steam cleaner and air the heck out of the matresses. At least here in Finland all that is possible. I don't think that many buy matresses online here. We tend to say "Do not buy a pig in a sack."

    Most are made with the same kinds of foam, different densities, different colors or thicknesses. In the US they have be treated with flame retardants, these are toxic chemicals that you breath in every night, there are some natural retardants like wool, but you have to look for it . You can make your own mattress with a quality zip cover (like on diynaturalbedding.com) and buy your own layers, such as coils and/or all natural latex toppers. There are some companies that have flame retardant free mattresses and work mainly with natural latex, Avocado Awara, Birch, the most affordable one I've seen is Eco Terra, among others

    Many online mattresses do allow you to try before you buy (30-45-60 day trial) Though there are those that do not. It may be sensationalist to just plainly put that many don't even when there are examples of the contrary and not mentioned.

    • @The_Broke_Gamer
      @The_Broke_Gamer 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      What's wrong with saying that many online sites don't allow you to 'try before you buy'? It's the truth. Many doesn't mean all or most. It means a lot. And a lot of sites don't give refunds if you don't like it.
