This video takes me back to when I first started playing accordion at 9yrs old in California. My pops bought me this instructional video cause I loved tejano music because of how different the accordion sounded compared to traditional Norteño music. I've been living in TX for 15 yrs now and I'm very proud to live in the birthplace of Tejano music. Flack Jimenez is on my mt. Rushmore of accordion players.
i dont mean to be offtopic but does someone know of a tool to log back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost my login password. I love any help you can offer me!
@Ahmed Vincent Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
this is SUCH a great video. I feel like i should send Tim and Flaco ten bucks just for having gleaned so much knowledge from it. i've watched this thing for days and days!
Correction @jerryreyes7235 Puro Conjunto!!! 100% Tejano Citizen from San Antonio, Texas. And I agree with what you said; "So proud of my Roots and Heritage." Absolutely!!! 7:03 Leonardo "Flaco" Jimenez, a very close friend of my father who looked up to my father's accordion style; Legendary Accordion Great Jesse Salas from San Antonio, Texas, since they grew up together as kids in the early 1940s during WWII. ONE OF THE TWO VERY BEST AMERICAN ACCORDIONISTS OF ALL-TIME!!!
I suppose I don’t see what difference it makes in the context of listening to music. Are you suggesting that being a Mex-Tex is a necessary requisite to appreciate Tex-Mex music? I’m a bit lost. I’m not suggesting you shouldn’t be proud, I’m sincerely asking why.
4:41 These are actually German Diatonic Accordions made by Hohner and that's because the Europeans took their Accordions with them when they moved to Texas. When the Europeans had their Accordions with them in Texas they would play Music there something like this (Plays Edelweiss from Sound of Music).
I play Keyboards so the Hohner Latino III 72 with 34 Treble Keys seems like a better match because I get the same note on the in and the out which means I'll never run out of air.
They just forgot that the Tex-mex came from the NORTEÑO music........ That started in MEXICO, and it's the mixture of that European acordion, the MEXICAN bajosexto. It started in the northern states of Mexico, by the late 1800's. The bajosexto was made to play bass and accompaniment for the acordion.
Puro Tejano!! 100% Tejano!! So proud of my roots and Heritage!!

Tex Mex Music is really German Oompah Music with a Mexican Twist featuring the Bajo Sexto.
this was the only video on how to play a button accordion back in 1995. Today there are a million videos on here.
Flaco Jimenez..one of the best by far!!
Flaco Jimenez was always and always is my favorite accordion player! I play the accordion as well.

can you teach the chicken dance?
you can learn just by watching the chickens
Where is the Vihuela.
Juan Carlos moreno Vihuela is used for a mariachi ensemble. In Tejano, a Bajo Sexto is the most used.
Julio C. Carrillo Bro I know but the stand up bass tololoche is sometimes used with the vihuela.
Julio C. Carrillo the bajoquinto is like the bajosexto?.
Juan Carlos moreno The Bajo Sexto has 12 Strings while the Bajo Quinto has 10 strings.
La napolera???😂😂
Charlie Sheen shreds
hi
Hello!
Flaco's tunning makes the other accordion sound almost corny
Alexander treated Flaco very poorly in this video. Humiliating . 2 Thumbs down. And yes, I won the video.
