Crazy, I like all of these singles a lot. Its cool how he's doing the exact opposite of what he was doing before(no adlibs, deep rap voice, less hype production) but still keeping a dark vibe that still feels like Carti.

I don’t think fantano realizes that going that experimental is detrimental to carti’s image. Even today, 10 years after the Money Store, it is still too experimental to be mainstream. Carti has found a way to catapult himself to S-tier by taking some parts of experimental sounds and implementing them into his music.
I feel like cardos production perfectly fits the aesthetic cartis going for. I will be interesting to see where he goes with this in the album. That dark raspiness really comes out with his beats
Imo it’s too skeletal and basic. I’m surprised Carti also went with a more established producer this time as he usual looks to new and more interesting up and coming producers to bring about a new sound.
HOODBYAIR is personally my favorite out of the four songs. I feel like the dark organ-like synths really encapsulate the vibe of what he was going for. The deep vocals really fit on the song because of its unique beat.

Anthony, how dare you like the production on 2024. This beat was produced by Kanye😡. If you like this production u are either: 1. Hateful Psycho, 2. Nihilistic teenager, or 3. Kanye meat rider. Which one is it Anthony?
Ur The Moon is still easily the best of the four for me. The beat is very simple but each element feels thought out and intentionally just *slightly* left-field or experimental. Mixing that v3 rasp with v2-esque ear-worm delivery, along with this beat says to me that Carti is keenly aware of his distinct sound and how to play with and refine it, which gives me hope that the actual albums tracks will be much more varied and experimental. And considering the spaces he's gone to in a lot of his unreleased music, that might earn that raw unfiltered internet aesthetic you're talking about.
personally, ive been a carti fan for a long time, for me his real talent and allure is what drake wishes he could do, he is so so so good at building and reflecting his own music visually and through his media. i think for me these songs work so well because its so him, this is his universe and on backrooms i get thrown off every time travis comes on because these beats and visuals and just overall aesthetic is so perfectly tailored and crafted by carti for carti its just weird and offputting whenever someone else steps into the light on the songs. im really curious how this effect is gonna play out on the album if there are as many features as the tracklist opmbabi posted suggests, the last time carti had features was obviously die lit where the aesthetic was still relatively approachable and versatile for guest artists.
The music he’s making is super exciting, he’s changing shit in a big way, eliminating structure and going more abstract w the sounds and flows. Big pauses in these songs were really cool and at the best time. Bridges instead of hooks, middle sections that change the energy of the song in a very subtle way. These have all been 🔥
Fair points made throughout but I wouldn't say Carti is replacing Travis. (okay maybe amongst the very young cohort) They will both dominate their own lanes for as long as their careers let them; & both have undeniable pull but Travis has already cemented himself as an artist that will be around for another 10+ years.

He should have released an even more heavy/ punk album in 2022 when the whole antagonist thing was going on. Put the guitars in there aswell and make it a full on rage album I would have loved that but no he wasted it
It feels like he’s tryna break into the top tier of mainstream rappers with this new album if it sounds anything like these 4 songs. They’re a lot more safe than what we had on whole lotta red. I was hoping he would go even deeper into that sound but I guess I can’t blame him he could become a superstar with his image and fanbase and tbh he is cooler than a lot of the big names we have in rap at the moment apart from maybe Travis Scott
Fantano is brushing off the one thing that makes all of these songs so great/infectious: timing/vocal delivery. Especially on 2024 and H00DBYAIR, there are so many unpredictable bars back to back that despite being weird, sound really good with their respective beat. Perhaps most importantly, this is truly a new sound, not just for carti, but for music in general. It sounds like Fantano prefers BACKR00MS the most, which imo was the least adventurous and shows its influences

Travis played backr00ms live in Toronto last night and trust me it sounds amazing on a big speaker setup. These reviews don’t do it justice unless you hear it live or in a high quality studio set up.
Melon is so open minded when it comes to other genres and artists but so ungenerous when speaking on opium artists. I still cant sleep at night thinking ab your comment saying SEBBI would sound better on a ken carson beat.
0:20 *The Legend. No need to say the rage legend, he is a legend period. One of the most revolutionary artists in hiphop of the 2010’s, providing a whole new sound to the rap landscape.
These tracks are really throwaways or something I’d see on a mixtape. I think Carti wants to create buzz for the rollout but also gauge the streets. Realistically, I would hope Carti brings bangers on the album harder than all these songs we’ve heard so far. He legit has a chance at creating a moment if he drops another classic album and every song is hitting now while also having aging power like WLR. I’ll be optimistic and hope lol, these songs have been in rotation for me. I’m messing with this mixing of the different Cartis.
Nah this shit is the best Carti ever. It doesn't even need to be explained, it's all about the energy. If you don't feel the chants, it wasn't meant for you iykyk.
I honestly think the opposite, backrooms and hoodbyair were great imo while 2024 was kinda mid. Ur the moon is still probably my favorite though, I’ve been listening to it on repeat the past few weeks and it hooks me in everytime
i agree with the hoodbyair take. feel like if carti were to drop this before wlr it’d get crushed but i personally think people are scared to be left out after WLR started getting love
Have you seen his review of Die Lit? He's given Carti credit for being an originator (main influence) of the rage sound. Most of the time he likes the ideas Carti brings but they're not just fully executed or ambitious enough. Even tho I'm a fan, I agree with him that a project like WLR could've been so much more than what we got. Finally Fantano tends to shit on his roster way more but for good reasons. I can't listen to a full Ken or Lone album.
Carti actually suffers from delayed puberty. He mentioned in an old interview how he never hit puberty until he was 19 years old, after he got medical attention to give him testerone injections. His balls dropped around June 2023, and he is now able to rapr in a much deeper register.
backr00ms is my favorite. i like the minimalistic approach leaving space for the beat. everything blends together great. it has it's own vibe. you have to listen multiple times to get into it, but now I can't stop listening.

There literally nothing impressive or curting edge about anything on any of these tracks & sound like low budget versions of stuff he's already put out. It's getting harder for Carti to hide behind production now
It’s called art, it’s called post-modernism, do some research before having an opinion.
@@lesryglrhfohser no fancy high art terminology is gonna cover up the fact that these singles were lackluster. Lie to yourself if you want
It’s CALlLled PoSTMoDErNiSm oh my god the sophomore year cringe is incredible
@@JonathanDoe777 I’m a junior dumb ass
Melon not liking h00dbyair makes me enjoy it even more 😆
IM TRYNA BE CARTI NOT MIKE
Travis played backr00ms live in Toronto last night and trust me it sounds amazing on a big speaker setup. These reviews don’t do it justice unless you hear it live or in a high quality studio set up.
sameeeee bro I was there it was crazyyyy!!!!, cant believe I witnessed the first time he played backrooms
@@mominnadeem61 unreal night 🤘
Fantano's impressions on 1:42 are no cap so on point I'm baffled lmfao
This guy just needs to appreciate that other people hear different things that’s make cartis music so special
Carti will never replace Travis
@@tsoden2 no he’s not
The intro to these videos is so catchy. I'll sing it to myself while I'm doing laundry.
Melon is so open minded when it comes to other genres and artists but so ungenerous when speaking on opium artists. For someone pushing the sound forward/bending genres i would think he could appreciate some of the things these kids are doing but labels it as simple and boring. I still cant sleep at night thinking ab your comment saying SEBBI would sound better on a ken carson beat.
Carti is probably my favourite artist but these last 2 track have been garbage . Cope
@@maz1629.ya in ur opinion. No one is coping cuz some nobody on youtube dislikes em lmao
2024 definitely the best. Bro knows game 🫡
fantano's carti impression is immaculate
ur too old carti is a whole vibe feel like ur getting transported to a new dimension when listening to him best artist of 2020s
*my mind durning a test worth 70% my grade*
1:52
if it was called Playboi Cendrick "To 2024 a Music" you wouldve given it a 10
0:20 *The Legend. No need to say the rage legend, he is a legend period.
One of the most revolutionary artists in hiphop of the 2010’s, providing a whole new sound to the rap landscape.
@TURDBURGLAR710 was I wrong? Die Lit is a modern classic.
Cringe

Cant wait for the album we waited 4.5 years for just to give it like a 2.5 or smth
Ngl hoodbyair is carti’s greatest song
Steaming hot take
deadass thought the intro was an ad😭
This new album will be legendary!
Ur the moon is still probably my favorite though, I’ve been listening to it on repeat the past few weeks and it hooks me in everytime
i thought backrooms and hoodbyair were good while 2024 was best and ur the moon was worst
1. Hoodbyair
2.Backrooms
3.Ur the Moon
4.2024
Hoodbyair is crazy
I thought hoodbyair was fantastic, urdamoon was pretty good and back rooms and 2024 were skips tbf.
1. backrooms
2. 2024
3. hoodbyair
4. ur the moon
all great
THE NEW VOICE IS THE MUMMY VOICE AND THAT IS CANON
Anyone else notice the silhouette at 4:44?
he might wanna call a priest - because that’s some spooky shit
ummmm wtf
just around the corner
HOODBYAIR is such a banger for me and the hardest of all 4, idc what anyone says
Backrooms sounds like carti doing his best future impression to me
All 4 are better than the Sexxy Red album.
You’re so pathetic the way you let his preferences control your life
I haven’t heard the Carti stuff yet but… yes
not as skillful though
Fantano just gotta listen to each of these tracks a couple more times then he’ll be hooked on em like the rest of us 😂
i agree with the hoodbyair take. feel like if carti were to drop this before wlr it’d get crushed but i personally think people are scared to be left out after WLR started getting love
I literally watch your videos just to fall asleep. Your voice is so familiar and soothing
He can’t see the vision
Real
not much of a vision to see here imo
Moon is slept on
Yeah, I know bro is gonna give the album a light to decent 1
I really like the new kinda feel to the music. Carti is a vibe, u catch it or dont
Can't spell "Fantano" without "Carti-hater"
Have you seen his review of Die Lit? He's given Carti credit for being an originator (main influence) of the rage sound. Most of the time he likes the ideas Carti brings but they're not just fully executed or ambitious enough. Even tho I'm a fan, I agree with him that a project like WLR could've been so much more than what we got. Finally Fantano tends to shit on his roster way more but for good reasons. I can't listen to a full Ken or Lone album.
I personally dont like this departure from Rage to a more traditional Trap sound, I mean it was his bread and butter that he literally pioneered.
Why is Carri’s voice even higher now?
Carti actually suffers from delayed puberty. He mentioned in an old interview how he never hit puberty until he was 19 years old, after he got medical attention to give him testerone injections. His balls dropped around June 2023, and he is now able to rapr in a much deeper register.
Practice
2024 a classic already
backr00ms is my favorite. i like the minimalistic approach leaving space for the beat. everything blends together great. it has it's own vibe. you have to listen multiple times to get into it, but now I can't stop listening.
bro thats deadass me i didnt like backrooms much when listened to it for the first time and now here im not going a day without streaming it for atleast 10 times :3
I love Hoodbyair, the dark atmosphere with his voice goes perfectly together. You wouldn’t want his baby voice on that beat. I said this for so long, and I’ll say it again. MUSIC will be Carti fans’ version of Taylor swifts “eras” lol.
Don’t kill me. This album will have a mix of Cash Carti(2024 and UR the moon sound like die lit and self titled stuff) , WLR(Rockstar, a rolling loud preview) ATL Trap(Hoodbyair)
I am so so pumped for this album.
Carti replacing Travis is crazy
HOODBYAIR is a modern masterpiece.
someone from asap once compared playboi carti to james brown. it makes sense now
