- Spontaneous demo of the Yamaha 'Red Label' FG5.
I was blown away by this guitar and feel it's the Best production guitar I
have ever played. The voice is incredibly big and responsive and the guitar is light weight too.
At 34 seconds in to this video I play an excerpt of my instrumental 'Wayfaring Summer' which appears on Arborea's first album 'Wayfaring Summer' (2006)

Any Yamaha guitar is the best instrument for the money spent. The feel, the sound quality and longevity is soul satisfying.
That opening tune up to 30 seconds was freaking AWESOME
There is something magical about a Yamaha guitar.
(fact)
Have had mine now for a year. Bought new….absolutely love it, warming up real nice. Light and very comfortable to play. Nice playing by the way !!
Sounds Great! Nice playing!
Sounds terrific!
You got it amped!
Well played 👍I’m tempted to buy one 👍
By all means buy it, this guitar will just give. It's powerful and delicate. It's like a switcherland knife, many blades and tools.. This guitar will handle whatever you throw at it (soundwise) and it's also very durable. Prices are going up from these.
I just bought one, and something that I've never heard anyone talk about is just how staggeringly vocal it can be,
don't laugh, but it's like an electric guitar, it has so many shades of voice, the bass can be thumping if the strings are very very slightly dampened, and of course some notes just sing for ages like it has a built in reverb. To look at it looks pretty plain jane but woh this is beyond looks. Did I mention the neck? The build is perfection, I can't see a blemish anywhere on mine. No doubts about recommending succumbing to temptation.
I bought mine in March and love it. I also bought a fishman humbucker pickup and professionally installed a pin on the side of the neck to strap it. Pretty sure this will be my last acoustic guitar.
I have one, its breaking in by the day. They are fine guitars. Got 200 off mine at SW just asking if any deals were coming up for Yamaha guitars.
sounds great ! ...could you please tell us what tuning you are in ? thanks
DADGAD. There’s a great lesson book that Acoustic Guitar Mag published that I recommend: DADGAD Essentials store.acousticguitar.com/products/dadgad-guitar-essentials
Is this an "old" red label Yamaha? Or one of the new ones they are currently selling? By the way... Great playing and sound.
It's the new model. Fg 5. They are incredible guitars.
The old FG had 2 or 3 digits..plus a 1970s serial..Also its rumored the old model numbers were roughly the Selling price in Yen. (FG140, 140k yen)..
It’s a new one…Thanks for listening 😊
is that on stock strings? thanks
They are stock strings…but sadly not sure what Yamaha uses in factory!
@@ObsoleteRecordings They install Elixir Nanoweb 80/20 12s at the factory. 80/20s are a little bright for me so I put on PB non-coated strings.
the first full minute is him showing off and NOT talking at all about the guitar
It’s a ‘spontaneous’ demo not an advertisement…and the playing is showing off what? There isn’t any flashy playing 😅
@@ObsoleteRecordings nice playing man.. makes me excited to get my FG5 Tuesday..
And it's perfect.
