Great sounds and tones on this G3 model. I have just purchased one and gone into the Edit and Share website. Loads of amps and pedals to select from. I am looking for settings and the best Amps for The Shadows sounds. If you could advise me I would very much appreciate it.

can you opt to activate the drum machine without leaning over - using an external foot pedal? because I don’t think this setup is practical live.
can you combine 2 effects on 1 pedal? like phaser and tremolo on 1 stomp?

Porque cuando quiero seleccionar los 6 modos solo cambia los preset, no se que sucede. Oprimo PACHT SELECT y se cambia más no deja modificar. AYUDA POR FAVOR
hey nice vid, how many sounds can be recorded ?
I have some question for a long time, and i think ive found the answer and should post it here.. First of all, g3x doesnt have any blank patches to begin with. A0-J9 theres no blank patches.. And the only way to have a blank patches is: to download zoom edit and share (or something i forgot the name. But its the zoom edit software for it's multieffects). Once you downloaded it, delete all patches you dont need, which in this case, i deleted it all, and build it from scratch.. Zoom g3x have EVERYTHING i need for 150$ (its an opinion, my line6 X3 live is better but more expensive). Theres SO MANY good effects and amps simulator on g3x, but i dont find any of its patches usefull (opinion.. Sorry guys, i'm still learning) so i build it from scratches.. And this is the right pedals.. If you alread bought it, congrats man.. You bought a beast..
I know it's a year old comment, but do you need a physical amp to use the G3X? Or can I just plug it right into my laptop and record into a program like Audacity or a proper amp simulator program?
You don't need an amp if you want to just use headphones or plug it directly into your computer.

How do you use 6 effects at once?
Hello. I have the G3X zoom pedal and I want to put it through the amplifier's effects loop. It's the first time I do it. The problem is that i don't really understand how the cables should be connected. I have also noticed that the pedal has two outputs R and L/Mono. Which one should I choose?? By the way, I heard that I have to turn off the amp emulations. Do i have to disconnect something else. ?? Greetings
If you want to run this through your amp's effect loop, then you would only really need to turn off the speaker emulation part, since it will be going through your amp's speaker. If you were plugging into the front end of the amp, then you would also turn off amp emulation. You typically don't want to "double emulate" anything. So don't emulate a speaker using the G3X if you're also using a real speaker. Similarly, you don't want to emulate an amp using the G3X if you're plugging into the front end of your real amp. Using the G3X in the effects loop bypasses your preamp and allows your amp to be a better, cleaner platform for amp modelling.
Assuming you have a mono effects loop which is most common, you'd go out of the amp effects loop SEND, into the G3X INPUT, out of the G3X OUTPUT, and into the amp effects loop RETURN.
Can you turn of the autosave?
is there an option where you can stop the loop recording by pressing the pedal instead of waiting for the timer to finish?

This or the boss gt-1? I'm new ro ME pedals and I want one that is the most versatile and has better sounds for the metal genre. Or for stuff like deftones, punk, and skacore

Yes, as long as the G3X is the last unit in the signal chain. Guitar -> Other Effects Pedals -> G3X -> Computer

How did you connect everything? Is this connected in front of an amp?
This was recorded directly out of the unit into a Zoom recorder.
What guitar are you playing on this? Sounds gorgeous
Unfortunately since this was recorded 5 years ago, we forget the exact guitar. But knowing Jim's preference, it's likely a Strat or Tele.
I've never understood what "40 seconds of looper" means.
Is it that the longest guitar playing it can loop is 40 seconds?
So I can loop 40 seconds backing tracks and add layers and layers of 40 seconds tracks?
Or is it that in total, it can only loop 40 seconds?
So if I want 4 layers or tracks, each one can only be 10 seconds at maximum?

It means 40 seconds is the longest phrase it can record. You can record a single phrase that's 40 seconds long, and then on top of that, record as many other phrases you want that are 40 seconds or shorter. There's no limit to how many layers can be recorded. As long as the total length of the recorded/looped phrase is 40 seconds or less, you're good.

You supposedly loop something because it's repeated a lot of times, so a 40 seconds loop is kind of overkill, right?
Also, why there are loopers that cost almost twice this multi-effects and can only loop?
its simple.. having more time for loops means you can record a full progression of a long song and practice soloing to it over and over but with 40 seconds you can only take segments
anyone know if it's possible to download new drum patterns?
No, it's not possible. Maybe with a firmware upgrade down the road, but as of now the built-in drum patterns cannot be updated.
seems like in all these demos, they spend half the video messing with the drum machine.

I've seen a lot of multi effects pedals online, but what I want to know is you edit the delay time on this one? For you know a dotted 8th setting for that Pink Floyd, U2's the Edge delay sound?

My only beef with it is that you cannot switch between Wa and volume

Yes the expression pedal can be set up as a wah pedal.
