I vaguely remember a story about Fergie when he was at Aberdeen. Aberdeen had just beaten Rangers in a Cup Final and the players were celebrating in the dressing room but Fergie was furious with them and told them they played crap and were lucky to win. Later at Man United he would get the players together pre season ( after winning the league the season before ) and ask them who was even more hungry to go and do it again and if they weren’t then they would need to leave. Amorim seems to have the same steel in him.
Somewhat disagree with you on Bruno. He’s started the last two seasons poorly, but he ended last season in absolutely fantastic form and has been very good since the moment Amorim came in (getting sent off aside). All signs point to him being very consistent under Amorim. Plus, even when he plays badly he’s putting in more work three games a week than 95% of our players could dream of putting in once a week. Has to continue showing it for sure, but Bruno is one player I’m not worried about. I also imagine it’s hard to consistently perform when you’re surrounded with the most inconsistent players ever.
Agree 💯 with the manager, I was happy & angry yesterday also. Attitude & work rate should be there every week regardless of the opposition, that's what the top sides do, that's what we did when we were a top side, we'd often drop points to other big clubs but were fiercely consistent in beating the teams we were expected to beat, home & away. If that United from yesterday turned up most weeks we'd be way up the table & not worrying about being in a relegation scrap.
I hope (but doubt it) that Amorim gets the full backing of Glazereos and that's not measured in transfer spend, by the way. It is measured in support for his plan and an uncompromising reform of United's squad, whether he deems someone surplus to requirements, or just wants more from their performances. If they (Glazereos and co) don't help and support his efforts to make us into a football team and transform the attitude and application of the players then we haven't learnt any lessons from ETH's failure. I worry that Ratcliffe and mates are just looking to another rising star coach to perform a miracle and get consistent performances from this group of players (whom we know can turn up for high profile games and play well when written off by fans and pundits). Amorim cannot become another fall guy in 6 to 12 months' time if / when we're in another period of poor form.
Jim Ratcliffe publicly criticized the Casemiro signing. If he's into cost-cutting, then why didn't Manchester United sell him in the summer? He's the highest paid player with almost zero service.
Great. Glad with the win yesterday, but far from pleased about the playstyle. I dare to say ten Hag was better of his way play, his playstyle. They only threw balls over the top, playing with a low block. And that is why I think ten Hag is better. Having said that, I don't say Amorim out. I give him all the time he needs. But the way of play was Ole style, and if he will be persistent in this vision Amorim may leave.
Sir Alex said other teams raise their game when playing united they should play other teams the same way but they don't that's cheating on their manager.
Amorin was spot on abt de reserve players which are lazy n injury prone..getting high salaries n wit low mentality...Need to sell off Casemiro, Erikson, Shaw, Jonny, Onana, Mount n get better players in..
The irony is that they are all model citizen players but they are either too old or their bodies are failing them. They can’t play high intensity football. You need leaders but you can only carry two aged players max for mentorship. Then your supposed peak players Rashford, Sancho, Lingard, Martial - all mentality problems. It’s the sum total of both. I actually think the last wave of recruitment has been good. Only Antony has been diabolical. Mount is very unfortunate.
Its even more than mentality. Its about chracter and heart which cannot be taught or coached. A potential new players character must be looked at as well as " data", Instagram followers , etc. If this had been done at least 6 of the current squad would never have been signed .
We’ve had this kind of games under Ten Hag as well. Mainoo, Bruno and Ugarte is just a solid midfield. Especially when 2 of them could rest against Newcastle.
Regarding a rashford transfer Absoluteley NO WAY should we loan him out and PAY ANY OF HIS SALARY ' NO WAY ' if any clubs want him they either pay ALL OF HIS SALARY ' or rashford takes a massive pay cut so the loan club are paying all of his wages . If not he either plays ( on form.) or its the reserves ' when the club are making people redundant ' stopping charitable donations & INCREASING TICKET PRICES its obscene to subsidise marcus rashford
Amorim probably mainly meant that even the existing team has a SIGNIFICANTLY higher capacity than the table position tells - but only chooses to work hard from time to time when they feel for it and only for special matches
Its not Bruno cant give his continues performances but its bcoz he dont hve de support from de other lazy players tht was playing wit him... Rashford, Casemiro Erikson gave him headache n dont alwiz blame him for mistakes...
First game of the January window, are you surprised the players turned up, they now know no-one is safe, let's see how they respond in February after it closes
Rashford will never play for AC Milan while the current coach (Sérgio Conceição) is there. The demand that coach expects from his players is the same as Ruben's Amorim or even higher, with the difference that Sérgio Conceição is not a good communicator, it would not be useful for a player with Rashford's personality to join a team with Sérgio Conceição has coach... 19:36
This manager is savvy, the way he shows the board in games like Newcastle at home the problems then puts on a master class at Anfield to show how it could be with investment, back this guy to the hill!!
If we loan him out and continue to pay his wages, we are still going to be linked with his daily PR every week. It will continue through until the summer. Just get rid and get him off the books completely
United players need to imagine when playing other premier league teams, that those teams are wearing a Red Liverpool or light Blue Manchester City shirt !
I'm really happy with the performance against Liverpool, but I hope that these inconsistent players won't fool the board and manager. A lot of them cannot be trusted in the long term. Before the Liverpool game, the narrative was that almost everyone in that squad was not good enough. After the Liverpool game, the narrative is, if we get a proper striker and LWB we are not that far from being a good side. So these players will give the manager a headache in the transfer window. I still believe Manchester United need a clear out, starting with top earners with little service.

Then your supposed peak players Rashford, Sancho, Lingard, Martial - all mentality problems.
It’s the sum total of both. I actually think the last wave of recruitment has been good. Only Antony has been diabolical. Mount is very unfortunate.
This is not play station you can't just sell off by fiat there must be a buyer and the player must accept to leave get real
I have been a critic of Ratcliffe, but if letting Amorim have a completely free hand ,, and mouth, I 'll back that!
Absolutely no excuses for the players now after that performance! They have it in them and they have to prove it every single game or they need to go!
Its even more than mentality. Its about chracter and heart which cannot be taught or coached. A potential new players character must be looked at as well as " data", Instagram followers , etc.
If this had been done at least 6 of the current squad would never have been signed .
What mistake did De Ligt make against Liverpool apart from the hanball
We’ve had this kind of games under Ten Hag as well. Mainoo, Bruno and Ugarte is just a solid midfield. Especially when 2 of them could rest against Newcastle.
Once Ugarte is out ,we will fall apart.
Regarding a rashford transfer
Absoluteley NO WAY should we loan him out and PAY ANY OF HIS SALARY ' NO WAY ' if any clubs want him they either pay ALL OF HIS SALARY ' or rashford takes a massive pay cut so the loan club are paying all of his wages .
If not he either plays ( on form.) or its the reserves ' when the club are making people redundant ' stopping charitable donations & INCREASING TICKET PRICES its obscene to subsidise marcus rashford
De leight was a monster 👻
No other manager got such support from the hierarchy like Ameron..since SAF..
We need entourage-free players
Rashford, his groupies and flunkies are not welcome to this club.
Amorim probably mainly meant that even the existing team has a SIGNIFICANTLY higher capacity than the table position tells - but only chooses to work hard from time to time when they feel for it and only for special matches
the result is secondary...we are Manchester United and we fight till the end. NEVER SURRENDER.
Its not Bruno cant give his continues performances but its bcoz he dont hve de support from de other lazy players tht was playing wit him... Rashford, Casemiro Erikson gave him headache n dont alwiz blame him for mistakes...
He was also crap playing senseless nollywood passes
Comments like this make me believe this manager is HIM
Great show m8
Bruno needs to be resting and then can have good games
First game of the January window, are you surprised the players turned up, they now know no-one is safe, let's see how they respond in February after it closes
Made up with granacho coming back like he did hard work and change of ego to much better from him well done granacho !!!!@
£104 million a year, not playing... Ridiculous!
INSANE this manager already vha ged these players mentality and everything in thsi short time
This manager is savvy, the way he shows the board in games like Newcastle at home the problems then puts on a master class at Anfield to show how it could be with investment, back this guy to the hill!!
Espn told Amorim was annoyed because of the performance 😢😅😅
If we loan him out and continue to pay his wages, we are still going to be linked with his daily PR every week. It will continue through until the summer. Just get rid and get him off the books completely
I actually don't like Bruno that much but... was Bruno's performance directly related to how well Man Utd as a whole play?
De light is a powerhouse. The problem is, we need more defensive powerhouses. One isn't enough. If one makes a mistake, the other will help out.
Chopped chin yoro ice cold tackle 🔥🔥🔥
Can’t wait for rashford exit
Over £100 million a year on those players not involved NOT £25 million 52 weeks X £2M = £104M
What is actually up with shaw and mount ?
“Be careful about DeLigt” calls Onana absolutely sh1t all game and dogs on him constantly 😂
Just ignore any question about Rashford. No comment. That's all. Amorim should do that.
Mark, you don't have put on your red light, those days are over.
Spot on analysis
What about Manuel Ugarte
Be patient, wait and see
He believes in his ideas and he's committed, he's getting the right ones onboard
I still believe Manchester United need a clear out, starting with top earners with little service.
the white light looks cold, it's january we need cosiness.
Class manager I like him
Time is the master now as it will take time to form the right squad
I think with the thin squad they have got....difficult to play to that tempo every match...impossible
espicially playing two games per week.
How many brain cells do you need to lack to think were now playing Amorim ball. Cmon, wtf people
