Love the finish of this one. One of the most exciting in recent memory. I felt the announcers made too much of Baxter's drop off, too. He never fell off the front of the chase pack. 29:35 in the snow is a great performance. It was just a brutal pace in that lead group given the conditions.

@@gordonsu9363 Which is probably a lot of the reason why nobody watches running. Even with the broadcasting rights, not being able to share the race for a year afterwards is ridiculous and exclusionary. Paying to see the race immediately makes sense, but the videos should be able to come out in other, less exclusionary outlets a few weeks later so people actually watch the damn race!

Daniel Bausch, obviously you don’t understand why people call people the “goat”. It always isn’t necessarily if they’re the greatest of all time. He was the goat of this race though, he literally led the race and did a lot of the work.

Really great show! The announcers were terrific: conveying competition from the inside. VERY RARE to see a sport covered so closely: the emotions of the athletes, etc. I was a cross-country runner. So deep the way the announcers conveyed the meaning of the sport. True stars...the athletes and the announcers. Thank you!
The commentating isn't quite as bad as people make it out to be, but they sure do stumble over their words. "Ummmm" and "You know" over and over in some spots.

US commentators need to look up the meaning of the word "Stud".
I didn't catch where they used it. What do you think it means? In the US it can be a slang for a guy who stands out as particularly attractive, powerful, strong, charming.
@@machineofadream Stud refers to breeding potential/ability. eg a stud horse. A stud of a man is a handsome, manly specimen who would be good in bed, ie breeding.
These have been the word's meanings for centuries. Unilaterally redefining a word's meaning mangles the language. Slang and jargon enrich the language, but they evolve in a particular way. Having TV commentators misuse the language is not one of them.

Commentators are pretty lame. I could do a better job and I am not trying to toot my own horn. There is so much interesting action going on in this race- there is no COLOR COMMENTARY. This sh*t is EXCITING and commentators should be able to convey this to even those who know the LEAST about college running. But they don't get me excited at all, and I love collegiate running. It's a darn shame. There is so much action going on and they are just pllpppllttt.
