tbh, echo of the elements is not the best in its tier considering its trigger chance, on ele that 6%, on enhance 30%, and in resto (once again) 6%, wich is pretty much a waste of the haste gained from ancestral swiftness .... and the fact that you can instant cast when u use it, u can for example use it and place a healing rain when the party takes heavy damage, or use it situationally for earthquack...
adding to this, 6% is once every 17 casts... 5% haste (i know) may be slower, but is sure to happen, and does also work better with flame shock, your main single target move...

For resto you wanna aim for a completely different statweight, depending on if you're doing 10/25 normal/heroic. Spirit until you feel comfortable with your mana (10-16k) > 8882 haste > 5200 Mastery (50%)>Crit > Haste over 8882 > Mastery over 50%. Generally you wanna hit your haste breakpoints from the stats on your gear but if you can't gem for it. otherwise gem for Crit, since it improves both your throughput and mana regen. Gemming pure int have similar effect but not as high regen on mana as going pure crit.
I would personally recommend Engineering and Blacksmithing. Synapse Springs lines up with Ascendance to get the most out of your burst and BS gives you the freedom of choice of extra stats. This being said, Alchemy, Inscription, Leatherworking and Enchanting are all fine as well. Jewelcrafting is slightly under these as you don't benefit as much from the JC specific gems on secondary stats. I wouldn't recommend Tailoring due to the randomness of the proc.
Hamerfaleu Wouldn't Leatherworking be more useful since I could craft my own stuff + in the upcoming expansion, they are probably going to remove the bonuses that affect your performance, which BS wouldn't be that useful as a Shaman, am I wrong? I know that BS is a bit better than other profession, but is THAT better? or I could just stick with LW or something else useful. BTW I am going to boost my Shaman to 90 so I won't need to level my profession and spend money on it, I just want to know what is best and maybe if I could chose something that would actually help me further in the upcoming expansion. If you're using Chain lighting at low sacks of Lightning shield its a way to rapidly stack them - but remember that going ham witht CL isnt a valid option. Use it as means to get more lightning shield stacks - which will lead to more frequent earth shocks with 7 stacks - giving a slight single target advantage. There is a fine balance in it, to keep the Shields stacking without casting enough CL to make your dmg on the primary target being reduced as a result. But shortly tell them - rapid stacking of shield -> More heavyhitting fulminations -> played correctly dmg increase on single target,
If it's messing with your guilds strategy or having a negative effect in any way, then stop it, as the gain isn't worth the trouble. However if it isn't just explain that if done correctly it can provide higher single target damage in faster shield stacking for on cool-down fulminations.
Not if you're chaining at low stacks of fulmination outside of UF debuff on your current target. It's hard to micro manage to perfection, meaning yes, a lot of it will result in padding.
You spend a large portion of this fight casting chain lightning. Taking UF would mean periods of not using UE when adds spawn and the +stat rating from EB contributes to your chain lightning burst when used directly before adds spawn.

Sabcio1234 They live for longer than five seconds, however even if they did, you want to maximise your damage on them and EB is the way to do this. Check the majority of top ranking shamans, EB will be in the logs.
I have Fast Question .Why dis you w8 so long with Ascendance in your opening??You lost over half of the time on your trincets and Gem Proc??With my calculation you lost at last 40% of your extra DPS on the opening.And secondly you should cast your elemendal 2 sec byfore the pull that weay you ar not losing any GCD on the begining .Whot i do I cast Elemental 2 sec byfore pull then prepot then UE on the pull folow by FS then if my trincets proc i use Accendance and is good to refresh UE byfore Ascendance is Gone but thats just an option.On your movie you lost full duration of Multistrike trincet and half of the other one and at last 3 sec on the gem Byfore ASC and thats a loot of DPS wasted.
1) Casting ascendance doesn't increase your damage. I can still lava burst out of ascendance on the pull, the damage is the same. 2) You use UE, then flame shock, thus using the increased fire damage on FS and not on lava burst, which is a small dps loss. Also you waste a global of the UF debuff since one GCD is wasted on flame shock. I use my UF before my ascendance to ensure all my lava bursts are buffed. 3) The only global I waste on the opener for trinkets is Fire Elemental which as you stated could be dropped pre-pull. I do this on such fights as Protectors, Shamans etc, however I'm really not going to lose too much sleep over losing a global on single target openers. Hope this answered your question!
When did we say it was an instant? It's worth using on 6+ targets, or for fewer targets if you can position it prior to the AoE starting, exactly as the guide says. Also a ~2 second cast isn't exactly massive.
In the video, where it shows earthquake, it says its cast time is instant :O) yeah it can be worth it if you lucky. i do it form time to time, overall its dangerous, and i tend to just cast it aside. as a lock will blow me out the water

in 99.9% of boss fights in SoO you will be either casting on the move or/ casting cl. useing EB atm is a wasted talent since UF and lb on the target has better uptime of damage. when there is any heavy aoe. making sure if you have 4 set and if there are 5+ targets to have the 4 set applied to youre main target since it does 4% extra damage to all the other targrts, bosses like dark shamans/galakras etc... when youre going to be moving make sure or atleast try have the lvb on cooldown while youre spamming LB while UF is on the target, eg swurls on garrosh heroic where you need meximum uptime of damage while moving. so basically making sure you have uf up while you know youre going to be moving, making sure you have atleast tried to pull of as many lvb's possible before this moment happens. magma totem/earthquake are pretty much useless, unless youre slowly adds for some reason earthquake comes in handy, the thing with chainlightning is the fact its going to be proccing with bis gear, meaning it will hit everything 2 times, what overwrites youre damage from any kind of ability. rereshinga FS with a meta and keeping it up can be a huge difference in damage, if you can you should keep it up, even if that means youre fs has 15 seconds left. when starting out to AOE dps, make sure you have a CL being cast on pull, eg dark shamans to gain light shield procs to have 7 stacks, then useing lava beam due to the 4% more damage whats being done, over a period of burst thats the difference between, 1.8mill and 2.2mill damage burst. when playing the elemental its all about flowing, you need to always be casting and not doing so can seriously mess up youre damage, waiting for spells and such. as i say, good guide for the ele shamans tbh.
haste breakpoints you really want to aim for as single target are either 35%, or 45%, anything inbetween should be moved to mastery if you really want haste on a pure single target fight
jack emery EB is worth using on Dark Shamans and Norushen if you're not going down. It increases in strength as a talent at lower gear levels as you scale better from the increases stats. This was mentioned in the guide. 4 set debuff from Fulminating doesn't buff Chain Lightning jumps. Even if it did, not casting Chain Lightning to Earth Shock every 13 seconds would be a huge DPS loss. On Dark Shamans you should be pre-casting EB to ensure you have the +stats for your Lava Beam burst. You have a valid point in that you need to always be casting, but that goes for wanting to be good at any caster, and everything else you've said has been mentioned in the guide...

it's because the boss fight, after one dies, they all go back to 100% hp. so, its pointless to aoe.
