In the interest of cutting back on utility bills and living a simpler life, have recently given up on the Sony HT-XT1 Soundbase(which consumes 34W of electricity.) Back to using the built-in TV speakers instead. With a deflector in place, the result is quite acceptable considering my decreased viewing distance and my programmes are mostly vocal. I do have a set of headphones if I want to enjoy the maximum musicality though. As for the deflector, am using a couple of aluminium casserole dishes. Thank you for the presentation dear ExploreVan UK.
On my last caravan, I used the sound system in the van for the TV, and it sounded brilliant. I haven't got around to wiring the new van the same way, so I'm just using a cheap soundbar, which surprisingly sounds good.
Update video is on the way but quick summary, heat gun has lasted the best, followed by C4 and then Linseed oil. Peanut butter and Meguire’s ultimate black now pretty faded.
I have a portable USB-C monitor for TV (Netflix, Iplayer, Prime) and the sound out of that is just terrible but I connect a cheap bluetooth speaker or headphones to my phone and that works well.

That’s a great idea! We don’t have a built in system in the back, but if you have it would sound superb. 👍
I use a Makita DMR108 which is extremely rugged and have great bass sound. Also very good for outdoor use.
Any update on which was best for your van bumper plastic restoration?

Samsung smart TV, no sound bar needed
Thanks Keith - that's useful! Is it native 12v or do you boost to 19v?
@@ExploreVanUK I use an inverter, all my sockets in the van are mains fed from the inverter, I've too many appliances to go down the converter route
