i love this song. sounds like the end of a movie, like the sad ending but the hope of living on after the apocalypse in a steampunk world

It took a a bit of listening to this album to realize the whole thing is a single story. I bought it and then sorted the tracks into chronological order after confirming it with the artists. Masterful work. I am so excited that their latest album is progressing! Just listened to Shadowstar; you can virtually segue between this track and that one as it begins with a music box prelude.

This song is amazing and it really helped serve for inspiration for a story I had to write for English class.

OK, right, now I have the inspiration i need! i'm going to write my own stories. and it's all thanks to the Clockwork Dolls :D but, if the stories are terrible i'll blame it on myself because the Clockwork Dolls are too awesome for criticism!

    Lyrics:
    Helene:
How is it we have come to this
A turning that I somehow missed?
What weakened strength is left behind
For me without your brilliant mind?
I cannot fix your wounded hole
Or seek to hold your noble soul
But I can hold you till you sleep
And sing the song you sing for me
Close your eyes, my dear one
And rest your head beside me
    Night's enchanting slumber
Sings you to a safe rest
    The lissome night has fallen
    The clouds are drifting slowly
I'll be by your side, dear
    Till morning has come
    Allison:
There's nothing here for me to forgive
Just live the life that you're meant to live
The greatest thing you've done for me
Is act to set my soul free
My journey ends tonight it's true
But so much more is awaiting you
Don't cry my sweet the night is here
And while you sleep I will be near
Close your eyes, my dear one
And rest your head beside me
    Night's enchanting slumber
Sings you to a safe rest
    The lissome night has fallen
    The clouds are drifting slowly
I'll be by your side, dear
    Till morning has come
Close your eyes, my dear one
And rest your head beside me
    Night's enchanting slumber
    Sings you to a safe...
    Helene:
    Rest

I'm so inspired by all of the Clockwork Dolls' songs. I just want to pick up a pencil and paper and start writing!

I'm thankful that most Steampunks aren't tools like you, who can't just appreciate what they like and instead have to snidely go on about what they dislike. Too many people like that suck the fun right out of things.

The Clock Work Dolls is the true face of Steampunk music, its beautiful and elegant just like the Victorian age. I really hate how other bands like Abney Park ruins real Steampunk music.

The Victorian era was a brutal era, filled with racism, colonialism and filth.
It was in no way "delicate", or "pure", except in the manors of the nobles, who themselves ricked from corruption.
Other artists, like abney park, prefer to showcase the other colors of the genre.
Every genre have it's different themes.
Fantasy can be uplifting, mythic, and very much like a fairy tale, like Tolkien's works.
Or it could be harsh, bloody and tragic, like JRR Martin's works.
It's not a situation where one of them is right about their definition of the genre and the other one is wrong.
Both act within the limits of the same genre, simply choosing to showcase a different aspect of it.
The clockwork dolls prefer to show a more fairy tail like view of the steampunk genre.
On the other hand, abney park prefer to focus on dirtier aspects.
He focus on pirates adventures, the industrial revolution, etc
There are many other examples of people looking into different perspective of the same genre.
If you like only this version of the genre, you do you.
But don't be a dick about it.
