Good day sir, for the 2014 paper To find the value for 2005, can I minus the 2003(269,400) value from the 2004(298,500) value then add the answer to the 2004 value(298,500)? I did it and got 327,600 tonnes. Would they give me the mark I work it like that?
The good thing about this question is that it is an estimated value and this can be subject to variability in the wider scope of things. Your method would be based on the trends observed for the most recent period of 2003 to 2004..while mine was an averaged statistic inclusive of all the aforementioned years looking at general trends. So technically, it should be fine to work it that way as well. Remember this is an Estimated value which is not a definitive number rather. So for 2 marks I would still view it as acceptable
Thank you!
you are welcome
