2014 Sailing to Watchet Harbour, North Somerset, UK (Moody 40, Wanderlust)

The Bristol Channel, UK. August 2014. Here we are sailing from Penarth Marina (near Cardiff, Wales) to Watchet Harbour (North Somerset, England) in a 1997 Moody 40.
A few days after this video was taken the tidal gate at Watchet Harbour broke and since it's repair the marina has totally silted up. We haven't been able to go back since, We may have been one of the last deep keeled boats to visit and stay afloat at Watchet.
(Note: This Moody 40 was my previous boat before the Nordhavn).

Learn to sail in the Bristol channel, its got it all. Vicious tides, mud, extremes of weather. After that, sailing elsewhere is a breeze

Any thoughts on the Mud since The Marine Group took Watchet over? They claim to have dredged the marina, I'm wondering if it is better now.

I have spoken to people who have visited recently and I’m afraid the answer is not what we all had hoped. The Watchet webcam still shows plenty of empty mud berths. Part of the marina may be usable for some but there is no way we would still float at low tide.

Aren't they supposed to dredge it to keep it in a serviceable state?
