We must adapt to change. The more info can be over welling but time shows we adjust to it. I am 75 yrs old so the changes in golf for me have been enjoyable. The ball, clubs, courses, everything. So go Cobra push us.
my .02 - I say most all of us weekend warriors love to tinker. Tinker in irons, wedges, putter, drivers etc. Cobra releasing a 33 adaptor driver with so many options...... it literally is a average golfers dream. Playing on the range with settings and lofts? Playing in high wind, courses that bend, etc. This is amazing and will be huge for us. Congrats to Cobra for pushing the technology as a industry leader. James - as always has fantastic content for us normal players!! Thanks James!!
@arpus1995 imagine the hours of free entertainment once you purchased it as you dial in your latest swing changes, seeking the ever elusive perfect shots! I can see people going down quite a rabbit hole of spreadsheets with various results and data points as they explore the combinations. 😮
Thanks for the daily content over the yearsJames get you and Chris a pint on me (Bobby can get his own 😂) My first video I watched of yours was the M3 driver "do the weights make any difference" You're still crushing it Appreciate you ❤
Great video James. I’ve just had this custom fitted and I’m glad you covered the point of being able to adjust the loft down (as I’ve gone for the 10.5) theres no doubt as my handicap comes down that there will inevitably be tweaks to my swing, I like that this club has so much adjustability to be able to adapt with me.
I don't understand why people freak out on these adjustments. They are really easy to figure out. What is really nice is you can buy the 9 degree head and now you can go up to 11 and down to 7 and have the same lie angle. Most other clubs when you change the loft it changes the lie angle most likely not in your favor.
Wow, what a superb-looking lineup! Great review, James! I'd LOVE to have that DS Adapt X, but sadly, I'll have to wait either 5 years for a used one...or be given one, wink, wink! 😁 I hope Bobby doesn't get too blistered under that Caribbean sun...actually, I hope he does! 😂😂😂
Just traded in ping 10k for cobra max k. looks better feels better, and with the fit 33 i was able to dial in my fitting. It isnt hard, i had no help. I used the qr code and my phone to bring up the matrix, and its that easy. Very similar numbers to the ping and little less spin with the cobra at the same launch. I felt like the ping 10k is still a bit of a draw bias head, not bad, but i have it all the way open loft down and stiff felt like i needed to adjust further but cant. Love the new adapter on the cobra.
Great review again, James. I've been playing the LTDx for about 5 years now, and it's been a great club, however, I may look at getting a bargain on a prior year (2024) model when the 2025 clubs hit the shops.
I switched 3 yrs ago to Cobra LtdX LS (blue clubbhead) and im 10000% sold. Never switching back. Got the Darkspeed LS Palm Tree Edition this yr.. just as good. These are IMO the best drivers on the market. And I play the HZRDUS Blue 6.0 small batch. Bought 3 shafts this yr because this set up is LETHAL!!
These look very similar from the sole to the new TaylorMade ones. I do like not having to change the shaft orientation and the face looks pretty cool, just not a fan of matte crowns which everyone seems to keep doing. Love this time of the year LOL
James you always hit great drives with any driver. Why would it help me? I play of 21 with a fade but sometimes hook. How do you fit me for that? The middle of the fairway for me would be good
Excellent Cobra! The 33-way adjustment is great and not at all complicated. Two 8-way collars/circles making 64 different letter/number combinations, but just 33 unique lie/loft combinations because of circles overlapping each other. Lie is mostly determined by your body height, taller more upright, shorter more flat. I'm 195 cm tall, my girlfriend 180 cm short. Other golfers might be longer or even shorter. Me being tall I naturally want clubs that are more upright. So what are my options with the new 33-way Cobra hosel? At 2° upright I only have std loft option (E1), but being able to tweak lie +/-2° without changing the loft is awesome! At +1.7° lie I have +/- 0.7° loft (D1 and E2). At +1.4° lie I have +1.4°/0°/-1.4° loft (D8/D2/F2). And so on.
@@and30ers Have you seen how much they cost? 750 US! Sorry, you can get a set of irons for that! Unless you play daily it’s just not worth it. A nice feature for pros, but mainly we’re all just average joes! I play off a 9 handicap, and I see no value in a nearly $800 driver that is 1 yard longer than last years model! Golf manufactures have maxed out distance, so adjustability is the only thing left for them. Bravo on the technology, but at that price?
@@DMKFACTOR I guess actual retail/on-line prices will come down pretty soon. I'm usually buying Cobra or Wilson clubs, at discounted rates mid season. Always way lower priced than the "big four".

I wish this hosel was on my Rad Speed, but oh well! I chose not to chase more distance every year with a new driver! I will just keep getting better with mine.
I have the Cobra LTDx driver, and I am very happy with it. I like less as it's less to go wrong and less to fiddle with. With this new 33 technology probably comes at a cost. Also, I am curious if it feels heavey. I like a light feeling club. At my age coming 70 shortly, less complicated and light are what I like.
@@paulkellygolf3671 yeah I know/knew that. That’s why I mentioned and said Cobra specifically since it’s a Cobra video and the commenter was hoping Cobra included the tool. 🤷🏻♂️

Hey James, why don’t you suggest to the manufacturers of those head keys that they make the tips magnetic like heaps of screwdrivers. You (or Bobby) wouldn’t have to spend so much time looking for the weights. Cheers, great review again - but I think I’ll stick with my ‘old fart’ XXiO.

Sorry James I disagree. I just purchased the Darkspeed and I believe it’s the coolest, sexiest, hottest, sleekest, Dark Nightesk, Batman driver on the market. 👍👍👍
James ...not enough pros will stock it also I've never seen a cobra fitting day at my club 🤷 there loosing out potentially need to get it out there very little fitting opportunity in UK
As I've said before, this range has to be sold and properly fitted. Pros will be given instruction and I'm certain that demo days will be opportunities for golfers to try each variation.
I dont get why they havnt learnt yet that in reality every model should have the 3 weight system just like PXG do. The X model here with 2 forward weights would allow you to make it left/right bias aswell as lower or higher spin thus making 1 club do the job of all 4 models. They would save a fortune on design and development to as only 1 head is needed.
Only thing I don’t get is what’s the point of all the heads in the new loft sleeve has 33 options to dial the driver in? Surely 1 head would be enough…
Last summer I bid on a TM Stealth driver and no one else did and I won it for $80.00. I did have to pay kind of high shipping IMO, but still thought I got a great deal. It performs better than any driver I’ve ever had. Do you think I got a good deal?
One point not commented on, the overall performance (distance and dispersion) seems exactly the same as last years ? Don’t get me wrong the adjustability might bring improvements to the individual but fundamentally it’s still only going as far as previous models.
So it’s not so much the driver, as it is the adapter on the end of the shaft connection to the hozzle. Cobra has had this for a while. The new one is just far more complex. Eleven clubs also has one of these. The question regarding these, while they make Tuning your shaft and club more precise, is how durable these adapters will be.
Technical question for all: what are the real world differences between an LS at 10 degrees loft and a Max at a lower loft and both producing similar spin and launch angle?
I have the last 3 Cobra drivers, and I like changing shafts. Can't do it with the new driver. Plus, I will not be able to read the settings because I don't play with my glasses on. Goodby, Cobra, back to callaway.
People worry too much about letting people tinker with sleeve settings. Let people do what they want. They might figure it out on their own through testing. It's not as difficult as people make it out to be.

Hi, I am also a senior golfer and a similar handicap to you. From my many years of golfing and general life experience combined, one will hopefully come to the realization that the wonderful game of golf can be enjoyed immensely whether one is a long hitter or a shorter hitter, and that distance and gross scores and handicaps are just relative metrics. If you played golf with old technology equipment from the last century, you will probably hit the ball a few yards shorter and your average scores perhaps one or two shots higher. But, guess what, you will still be enjoying the game fully and, as a bonus, for your green fees you will be getting one or more shots for free!
I love Cobra and am in the market for a new driver but I am Mr standard/ average. Give me a simple version of the new driver and knock £100 off and Cobra have a customer.
I checked out when I saw that matrix. I hope all the companies don’t make anything like that. Golf is hard enough. I’ll stick with Calloway’s simple system.
New 2025 drivers on the USGA website. Callaway Elyte doesnt seem much different to this years AiSmoke range, new name and colours. Ping 440 the same 10k by another name, both brands do have 3 weight portals, so like this Cobra, adapting the club to the buyer. So is 2025 the year of pushing adjustability? Tinkerer’s paradise, fitters profit centre, and yet another range of drivers that improve playability not one iota
Don’t see any reason to update my Cobra Ltdx driver that I got last spring for half the price when it came out. $250. Will this adapter fit with older Cobra heads? Not gonna improve much more with something new. Got a Srixon ZX5 driver I picked up 2 years ago for $189 dollars brand new. They go straight and long when hit pure so these $500 to $700 dollar drivers are a joke.
I don't think this new adapter will work for 90% of golfers, probably less than 10% of golfs consistently hit the ball in the same place consistently enough that these minor adjustments will help. PS I've had 1 cobra driver each year since the F9, so yes i am a cobra fan, and currently using the Darkspeed.
And they don’t need it! All just a big marketing gimmick to get people to buy their 600 driver. I’ve seen ball soeed comparisons and this Dark Speed is only 1 mph faster than last years! You’ll be able to get last years for under 300 as soon as those make it to the stores! You can buy a brand new Aerojet for 200 on some sites BRAND NEW in the wrapper!
@ You’re definitely giving up yardage then! You should be replacing your driver every 5 years, irons every 10, and wedges at least biannually! If you hit a newer driver like something from 2 years ago, you’d pick up probably 30-40 more yards!
@@DMKFACTORMy Driver, irons and wedges are about 18 to 19 years old. I had to give up playing for 12 years due to a back injury that I've only recently got fully sorted out. Just started playing again and can't believe how much technology has changed. I'm sick of all the big brand drivers!! Too many heads / too many shafts etc. Each brand should only have a maximum of 2 heads and simplify the whole gig for us amateurs.

Is Bobby staying out of the country so often to try and get a non-dom tax break of some sort?
Price? What are they going to retail for?
About £550
With the advancement in Ai, could we get Ai to watch our swing then tell us what setting we need?
That’s what launch monitors like Trackman are for.
33 loft sleeve settings is ridiculous....for me added adjustment that's not needed beyond what's already available.
It is, I always have mine on standard and it it’s the same if you hit it pure and straight.
Good lord what was wrong the previous ones 😂😂😂
The problem is that 95% of the golfers out there can’t use all this so called technology
@@DMKFACTOR I used the same driver heads for 18 years Gt 250’s from Golfworks.
@ You’re definitely giving up yardage then! You should be replacing your driver every 5 years, irons every 10, and wedges at least biannually! If you hit a newer driver like something from 2 years ago, you’d pick up probably 30-40 more yards!
@ You can get something like the Cobra Aerojet which is from 2 years ago and is 200 on some websites now BRAND NEW still in the wrapper!
@@DMKFACTORMy Driver, irons and wedges are about 18 to 19 years old. I had to give up playing for 12 years due to a back injury that I've only recently got fully sorted out. Just started playing again and can't believe how much technology has changed. I hit my friend's driver and irons last week and was blown away by the difference in distance and ball control i was getting compared to my clubs.Hopefully I've been a good boy this year and Santa, "the wife", let's my get some new toys.😊.
If you are over 18 - really? would make that much difference?
The right lie angle makes a huge difference, I’m sad cobra haven’t made this more about getting fitted
If you need to define overkill just show a picture of that adapter.
best cobra 2008 with trampling technology went miles, but now illegal
F33 in yellow 👍
DS Adapt in black 👎
💯
It’s five days in and I can tell you I haven’t aged well at all….
I’m 53 years into my golfing journey and I’m still rubbish
Technology is nothing against technique! We should pkay the the game not fiddle about on the course!
Cobra rubik!
I'm sick of all the big brand drivers!! Too many heads / too many shafts etc. Each brand should only have a maximum of 2 heads and simplify the whole gig for us amateurs.
Leave it 6 months and they’ll be heavily discounted
It’s not out for 2 months. Maybe give it 9 months. Dark speeds are still full price so research would say maybe even 14 months and it will slightly discounted
