    The 5.8L engines that NASCAR use are my favorite. A burbly crossplane that can scream bloody murder at 10000RPM is a thing of beauty.

    • @ironpanther2420
      @ironpanther2420 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      They are absolute animals unrestricted. Unfortunately, NASCAR has decided to restrict them to create "better competition" and now we no longer have that. 2014 was the best year for them as they ran an 825hp package that had the cars revving over 10,000rpms around the tracks. Unfortunately, we may never see that again with the direction NASCAR is taking.

      The engines are about the only good thing about NASCAR. Especially now, that NASCAR has bent the knee. So sad.

      The Ruf actually is a mix of a Flat 8 and a Flatplane V8, the block is a Flat 8 but the crank is a Flatplane V8 crank...😅 sounds hilarious I know, but there is a slight difference between a Flat 8 crank and a Flatplane V8 crank, that's why it sounds much like a ferrari...

    Liquid cooling may be heavy and complicated in aircraft applications but is the only way to go when you want the most out an engine. 👌🏻😎👍🏻

    Blue Av Gas commonly known as smurf juice also has an octane rating around 150. I use it in all my trucks but only add half a gallon to the full tank because it burns so hot, its also used to clean valves due to the high temp it burns at. If too much is used it FRY O2 sensors quicker than you can blink.

    Two 2BBL Carter carbs on the Chaika V8? Sweet. Pretty weird the way they're offset. I've never seen a design like that.

      Check out the Chrysler Max Wedge engines from early 60’s Super Stock. They also feature offset dual quads on a crossram intake :)

    The thing that amazes me about the Chaika, is that the communists were so opposed to the capitalist ideas of America, but they still drew very heavily on the style of American cars. It looks very much 57 Chevrolet in the back, and very much late 50's Chrysler in the front.

    Crossplane V8 all the way. You can keep your V10s & V12s, crossplane V8s are the best sound in the automotive world IMO. Flat plane V8s just sound like a busy inline 4 cylinder to me.
